FINALLY!!

Florida passed a law limiting the volume and bass levels allowed in public!!

For years and years I've seen these little turds riding around in their rediculous looking little street cars blasting soooo much bass that they can't possibly even hear what they're listening to.Ã,  This has never (even when I was of the age of most of these idiots) made sense to me.Ã,  Not to mention it's annoying and incredibly rude to the people around them.

They interviewed this idiot on the news last night who was like, "this is rediculous ... we're not hurting anybody!"Ã,  What a tool-bag.Ã,  This just proves my point.Ã,  This idiot doesn't see anything wrong with annoying those around him as long as he's happy.Ã,  Pathetic.

I believe the law states that you must put your bass/volume to a level that cannot be heard from 25 ft away.Ã,  There's no set decible level, just a cop's discretion.Ã,  I sure hope they start handing out ticket after ticket to enforce this law.Ã,  (good revenue for the cities)

I've already heard some of these 'tough' guys talking shit.Ã,  "They can't stop me!!Ã,  I'll put my bass where I like it!" (of course, it's far less intelligible than that!)Ã,  I bet after they've paid several hundred dollars of fines they'll be whistling a different tune.Ã,  Haha!

I say it's about time a law like this was passed.

Tiki

Hah!  Excellent!  Those 'little turds' were indeed getting out of hand ;)

Had no idea this would become law.  A lovely surprise.  Though, hell, most will break the rules anyways.  But now there are consequences.

Only, this is only regarding car bass, right?  Heh, I don't want to be arrested for my next Starbucks gig.

Babar

Heh...some music is meant to be played with full base. Of course, it starts getting silly when your entire car is vibrating.

Music that is meant to be played with full bass, shouldn't be played in public.Ã,  I would wager that far more people who are forced to listen to it don't want to hear it than those that do.

I think the volume of your car stereo should be like the volume of your house stereo.Ã,  You can make it as loud as you want as long as those around you aren't forced to listen to it.Ã,  People on the outside of your car shouldn't have to hear what you're listening to.

I've actually gotten up from a restaraunt table, walked out of the restaraunt, approached the car sitting by the curb blasting his stupid bass (thinking he looks cool when in fact he looks like a complete idiot) and said, "The people in that restaraunt don't want to hear your bass, either turn it down or park someplace else."Ã,  He, of course, screamed out "Fuck you asshole!" ... as he was driving off :)Ã,

He was tough ... and cool.

Hah! Tell that to my sister. Please!
I agree with what you are saying. Absolutely. I suppose there is some "status symbol stuff" in riding in your flashy car with your arms on the door, leaning back, and with speakers going "BHOOM BHOOM BHOOM"

When I saw the title, I thought you were refering to BassFisherman :-\

But yeah I fully agree whith your opinions. Seriously, you arn't that cool in your hotted up car and loud music. I couldn't car less about doing up my car (well if I even had a car of my own), and I don't play music very loud at all. Would be nice to see that sort of law around here, although I don't hear alot of people with loud music.

Mr Jake

but theres a certain something missing that the trebble can't replace  :'(

Teehee. Anyway. I don't really have a problem with loud music is cars, aslong as it isn't parked.

TerranRich

I wish Massachusetts had similar laws. I don't lke rap very much, so being forced to listen to a car rattling until it sounds like it's going to fall apart is just plain annoying. I mean, is there really a reason for playing rap music so loud I can hear it from INSIDE a building? Can't they hear it well enough? Damn, I set my volume to about 1/4 full and I'm afraid other people will hear my music...with my windows closed. :P
Status: Trying to come up with some ideas...

Ishmael

Much agreeance with Rich.

I like listening to loud music, as long as I can make out what's in it actually, and as long as it doesn't hurt my ears. I've been told to turn the down volume on my stereo a couple of times, but that's most likely because my door is like close to the opposite of soundproof ::)
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

They need to make that law nation wide....I've always hated that crap. I dont care what kinda music you listen too, i dont want to have it so loud that it hurts my eardrums from a 100 feet away...thats just dumb....

I've spent my time playing in bands with loud music, you have to do that thing in an appropriate place though...

Phemar

All your bass are belong to Florida ... :D

Evil

I live in Iowa, and we can play music as loud as we like. Cops can pull you over for loud music, but can't give you a ticket for it unless it's past like nine in a rural area. Cornfields are free game though. :D

Kweepa

Damn it.
They'll be passing a law banning me from driving around and around the city center next.
And then my precious ring tones...

Sam.

nothing like that over here unfortunatley but they've just passed a law in scotland about "no smoking in pubs and clubs".

and soon no drinking and no talking.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

Darth Mandarb

I believe that people should be able to enjoy listening to whatever kind of music they want.Ã,  As long as it isn't uncomfortable/annoying to those around them.

They are really enforcing the seat-belt law in Florida now as well (they're calling it "click it or ticket") so I hope they enforce this new law and hand out a CRAP load of tickets to these twerps.

They got something like that here too. No smoking is allowed in public places, unless is a specified smoking area. I think it is great!

I'm all for people being able to do whatever they wanna do, even if it's playing crazy loud music....thats fine. It's when they force me to listen to it...Your rights end where mine begin and vice versa...

Blackthorne

Yeah - listen to whatever music you wish.  Hell, if you like songs that are simply heavy on BASS and devoid of melody, so be it.  Just don't listen to it at volumes that would wake Tupac Shakur from his grave as he shouts "Turn off the racket, yo!"

I too am celebrating the passing of this law. I saw the guy on the news too, though I'm not sure if we have different stations or what in Miami and the Ft. Lauderdale/Coral Springs area. It was probably a different guy. Anyway, he was just as stupid.

I never understood how you could listen to the bass so loud and still enjoy the music. The guy on the news was like "I want my eyes to shake!" As if people down here didn't drive badly enough already, we don't need idiots with blurred vision caused by bass on top of their talking on cell phones and leaving their blinkers on forever!

Okay, rant over.

So good that I don't own a car... and don't live in Florida...
