Unless you have been living under a rock for a while (come on, it's not THAT bad!), you'll no doubt've heard that E3 has been "reconstructed".
Invitation Only.
Now, this does not affect me Personally, apart from the fact that i loved watching the E3 vids people put up on YouTube, and the fact that i had planned to go to E3 when i finished High School in 4 years. However, i'd bet a year's worth of WoW subscription that it's gonna have an impact on the more less mainstream.
For example, if this had happened a few years ago, i very much doubt games like Alien Hominid would've gotten as popular as they are.
Anyone want to comment?

PS: I looked for an E3 thread, but i may have just missed it. If this is the case, feel free to delete or lock or whatever mods.

I expect the journalism that comes out of E3 will be just as extensive and enticing. It'll just be less flashy and commercial during E3 itself. GDC was set up as a more informal version of E3, and while fewer companies attend it, the coverage is still pretty good. If E3 goes GDC style, I'm sure things won't change too much to the public.

Actually, I HAVE worked on a couple of finished games. They just weren't made in AGS.

No, GDC (or CGDC as I remember it) was set up as a conference for developers to share game developing experience in various fields of development. Or as a way for them to swap resumes.

Cancelling E3 is in some ways a good thing for developers because it's one less demo to polish.
