Calling all musicians... What program do you use for Midi to OGG conversions? I've tried alot of things, but still haven't gotten a perfect conversion yet. Is there any secret to it? Any help would be much appriciated.
I make music.

May i ask why the conversion? :/

I agree with Puddin', what's the point of making a midi that has a size of 30kb ,for example, into the same sounding ogg that 'weights' a few mb's more

But hey, I'm not sure if there's any free program to convert directly into the ogg from midi, so you couldÃ, use some program like MIDInight express to convert the midi into a wave file, and then use CDex to convert that wave file into an ogg file.

There is a point in this case, it is to do with the team game so don't ask questions! ;)

could also be that he has used either soundfonts or has a really decent set of midi samples loaded into his soundcard, or even both, i have quite a nice set of samples in my Audigy 2...

Record to WAV file using a sound editor, then convert to OGG using OGGDrop.

I like Virtual Sound Canvas for playing back general MIDI files and listening to music in games. It can also convert files straight to .wav format. I guess you can figure out how to convert them to ogg vorbis from there. Because the Sound Canvas is THE standard for general MIDI it should give the most accurate rendition too.
It isn't free though...
