Can anyone recommend a good web host?

I've had 5 years of perfect service with Ipowerweb, and suddenly they start sucking big time.  THe last few months or so have been met with downtimes and crashes and all sorts of evil things.  I was willing to deal with it for awhile, because of the 5 years of fine service and the fact that switching is more of a hassle than it's worth.  But I'm kind of sick of it.

Any recommendations?

I've been using Yahoo! Small Business for quite some time now. They have a nearly 100% uptime...the only downside is that they refuse to upgrade to PHP 5. They're still running PHP 4.2 or 4.3 or something in that area...which is fine, but for serious web developers, PHP 5 is a must.

However, if it's just for basic stuff, Yahoo! SB is great. Never had a problem except for the PHP version.
Status: Trying to come up with some ideas...

300 GB webspace, 3 TB bandwith. 7$ per month.

Can't see anything better than that. Up 24/7, support 24/7...

This is a review site of top hosting sites. I don't know whether the site is valid or not, but I got the link from a w3 consortium, so I assume it's good information.

Currently working on a project!

AGA

americangirlscouts.org server is owned by various AGS people. It's not necessarily just for AGS people, although we'd rather keep it amongst people we know rather than have complete strangers come along and end up destroying the server for us.

Fer all your webhosting needs... Right now they are running a sale.

2 Years, Free setup, and 2 years free domain name for $138.48.

Load balanced servers with redundant pipelines to each of your servers, so basically if one server goes down, nobody notices unless they ALL go down. 75 sql databases... well just click the link, it shows you what's included.

Oh, and please, if you do sign up, www.yelloweyedstudio.com sent you (you get credit for refering people)

I explained why too many times, so I'm not going to bother to do it in detail. Summary: 4 years with them, no outages ever, quick and good tech support, good prices and reliable.
Still here.

It's amazing how many different hosts everybody's recommending!

I have been using Hostfolio for a few years now.  They have several packages available and are about $5/month.  And they have, hands down without a doubt, the best technical support I've ever had the pleasure to deal with.

I know not many people are in the market of actually using free hosting. I'm just a cheapskate. :P

I'm going to endorse 110MB.com again. I've actually had quite a few annoyances with them in the past, but as far as free hosting goes...it's probably been the fewest for a single company. At least compared to what they offer. I'm getting ~2GB space, 100GB bandwidth (monthly), free PHP5, and MySQL5. As far as free goes it's probably the best out there.

Again, not many people actually use free hosting for serious sites...which is understandable since most free hosts are crap. But then, my site is crap. I pay for a domain name, what more do you want?*

*Realistically this has just come down to something that took me a long time to realize: I have no (graphical) creative vision. If you tell me how you want it to look, I could probably cook something up...but I just suck at design. :P

Thanks for the recs, everybody!  My sites are back up now, so I can relax for the time being.  Switching everything over to another provider will be a bigger undertaking than I thought, so I might hold off for now.  I'll look into these.

Maybe too late but I've always found http://www.110mb.com/ a very good free host. Maybe helpfull for some side projects or prehaps other people  :)
