Photoshop Sprite Making

<------ Help the Noob.

I have been trying to make my char in photoshop but it keeps coming out looking like a doodle rather than a boxy seirra looking character. What program is good to make chars in? Can photoshop put up sprite grid lines to help draw that boxy pixel look? Whats the easiest way?

Thanks for any suggestions...

i think Shift G brings up the grid and you can adjust it through options

MsPaint is probably the answer!

I know what you're thinking.... you can't do anything in paint...

UNLESS you practice....

Paint does the 'block' sprite look pretty well, I reckon, as well as some pretty darn good other stuff...

Hmm, yess, i have seen a few char makers but alas there sites have gone down in my absence. Although that paint picture above is impressive, that is talent not practice ><. And i like your avatar, FF7 is the shit! Anyways. Paint is powerful if you have the skill, and photoshop is powerful if you know how to work it to its limmits. I also have managed nothing more than fuzzy pictures with photoshop. IF your lucky you can rip another char from a random game and study the color changes and shading and possible do somthing similar. All characters in all games are similar in some ways.
