Title: Capturing character animations
Post by: on Tue 18/02/2003 22:52:21
I've been trying to capture some character animations from a Sierra game (specifically QFG I VGA), but I've been having trouble getting all the frames.  I've been using a screen capture program but it doesn't capture fast enough to capture all the frames.  I tried to use DosBox to slow it down, but it seems to skip frames, even though the frameskip is set to zero.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I hate to ask, but have you slowed down the walk speed sufficiently?  I note that it goes fairly slowly even on fairly modern PC's.  Another technique might be to use a decent screen-cap program that'll let you slam F-12 (or some key) dozens of times so you can be sure you've got all frames.

Perhaps you should contact the maker of QFG4.5

There is a Sierra SCI VGA resource extractor on the Ultimate AGI & SCI site I think. If you can't find it post again and I will try to dig it up...
