a) a .cha file is a character file that someone has already made in ags and is exporting it for use in another ags game. no program makes .cha files, other than the ags editor.

b) when that person gave you a picture, such as
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/Link0/PurpleLink2SpriteSheet.png)

You can go into the sprite manager, and select each frame you want, such as select only each walk frame one by one, and then select them all in the sprite manager and crop them, so they are all the same size and it won't look funny when you try to use them as a walkcycle.

c) .cha files is mentioned quite a lot, with what it is and how they are made in many places around these forums, as well as the manual and the ags wiki.

no offence, mistral, but I think you need to learn how to use AGS. You could do the characters yourself....

Cha cha cha files are easy to make if you know what you're doing!

Just import the sprites into the sprite manager first off.  Then go to the characters pane and set the sprites properly.

Well, because of the incoming merging act, the wiki is actually being converted into a more comprehensive WMGS Wiki site.
The current Wiki link may expire soon, so stay tuned! :D
