Title: Character Wanted!!
Post by: on Thu 22/01/2004 09:09:33
I'm new to this and while I can handle making rooms and doing conversations, I can't make characters with animation.

If someone has a made character that they wouldn't mind giving me I'd appreciate it.

Welcome to the community! Good to see you are making a game. Please give us more information, so we can help you better, and give you better advice.

1. What size do you need?
2. Show your drawing style
3. What kinda character?
4. What kinda game?
"The key to succes is practice"

PS: I think this thread belongs in the AGS Chat forum, but maybe it would be ok here also :)

I suggest you hire a crack team of Disney animators, they'd do a damn good job for you.

Or you guys could actually help the damn guy....

I find that it is most satisfying to try it all yourself. At the end of the day, when you look over your game & you've done all the art yourself, you'll be more happy than if it were someone else's work*.

Practise drawing characters on paper. Scan 'em (if you can). Post them in the Critics Lounge. (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=4)

There are also loads of tutorials to help you out. I think the most useful ones are at Kafta's Koffee (http://www.sylpher.com/kafka/tutorials.htm) but you could also try the tutorials thread. (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=600)

Good luck with your game!

*Yes, I KNOW I haven't finished a game yet, no need to point out my lack of experience in this department...

It's more the scripting than the art. Still the art I make looks very crap but I can't do the scripting etc.

Thanks anyway for the help, I'll post on the beginners forum, I think I would be better off going there.
