Title: Collections that you never meant to collect
Post by: CheapAlert on Sat 26/07/2003 07:55:41
I am the ultimate Bucky O' Hare collector. I have all ships and action figures, VHS tapes, halloween costumes, comic books, even game cartridges.

Little did I realize my collection was complete in 1992.

Back when I was totally in to Bucky, I almost took the roof and windows off of my ECTO-1 Ghostbusters car to give Bucky a spaceship.  Thank God I did not do that, there would be no value to my Ghostbusters toys then.  I just used my Ninja Turtles Van.  Those were cool toys.  The green rabbit, the 4 armed duck...

I'm accidently collecting Union Jack underwear...
But that's probably more than you needed to know...

However, if you go to Mittens you might just end up seeing some. ;)

I had a rock collection too. And a collection of broken glass from the beach. I didn't have any action figures. Just a plastic dinosaur that my dog chewed a leg off of.

Kids are spoiled these days..

I used to collect matchboxes because russian matchboxes have pictures on them. I wouls sometimes go as far as breaking ice on pathways to get them. I had about 300 different ones. I was 10.

I collected train tickets for a few years and stuck them on my wall in order, I called it my 'train of thought' It was kind of like a diary, I kept notes on some and put marks on others so I could remember what had happened that particular night, or day. It was great sometimes to just reminise on the good old days.

I took them all down recently and now I'll probably have to sand and paint my room to get rid of all the marks left, also a lot of  paint came off the wall taking them down. I should have just left them there, but some had fallen down and it looked pretty silly.

Hmm, my older brother used to collect basketball cards. He then got sick of them and gave them to my younger brother. So, what do you know, he sticks them on the wall next to his bed. So he has like heaps of cards on his wall... and then the next night he has nightmares about the cards jumping off the walls and chasing him... heh...

I collected an odd assortment of pens and pencils and other useless junk, that I would use to build armies. They were essentially my army men/legos type of thing. Sounds wierd now...but I had a blast with them. I've still managed to keep my favorite ones, even at the insistence of my mother to get rid of them. I got rid of a good bit, though, just to keep her happy, and so she'll give me money while I'm away at college.

I'm a pack rat, though. So it's easy for me to collect things I never intend to use ever.

I collect any and all TV Guides that mention Star Trek, even if only a blurb. :P That's abotu it. Oh, and paper. Lots and lots of paper. It's an unintentional collection, meaning that I hate throwing away anything with information on it, like math problems or plans for an unrealized game or whatever. :P
