That seems a good place. At least it helped me some in figure drawing.

First things first.
If you want to get better at art, and are willing to spend time on it, DON'T. I repeat, DON'T read all those how-to tutorials. The time I spend on ulearning these things could've been used for better things.

Read this (http://www.eatpoo.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php1173).
Then read this (http://www.saveloomis.org/FigureDrawing/figure.htm).

It takes some time, but you will develop much further in art and will end up being amazingly awesome. IF you choose to spend time on it.

That being said, do some figure drawings, look at pictures for reference, and if you really want to draw like those guys at Marvel, try looking at comic books and applying the styles you see there to your figure drawings. But I don't recommend that. It seems much better, to me anyway, to develop your own style in art.

Good luck with your artistic endeavours, in whichever path you choose to take. :)

Babar - That looks quite nifty, but as Al said I think it would be perhaps better to follow the non tutorial steps.

Al - Those links look good. It's just gone midnight and I'm feely quite sleepy so i'll read up on them tommorow. From yur experience what would you say would be the best thing to draw?

Al: You speak of truth, yet the path of the drawing hand is a strugglesome journey few are willing to take.

..well more or less. I'd say it's not a bad thing to mimic what you like, because in the end, you'll still develop your own favored style. It is usally a mish mash of every great artist you'd be willing to bare children for. Nevertheless, all good art is in thorough practice and a good solid ground of studies - but not always. I've seen simply amazeing work done, where as the stylization breaches realism in favor of subjective portraying (sp? word?).

But yeah, trying to make superhero comic-style drawings will in 99% of all cases lead to BAD superhero-style drawings ;)
