I hope to delve into the world of 3d modelling and instead of dicing in head first i sall ask a question. As a newb to this type of art is there a good user friendly easy to use program out there that would help me get a grasp onto it?

I suggest you use http://www.wings3d.com ! I'm using it now for a month, and I was new to modelling too, but it's so easy and the possibilities are endless! There are alot of tutorials available, but after your familiar with the interface, you don't really need them all.

Whatever you choose to use, good luck with it, and hope to see you grow to a skilled modeller!

I have heard that Blender is quite good but is it n00b friendly?
I downloaded both recomedations to see wich suits me.

We already have two (or more) of these threads that are similar:

But if you can read a manual, both Blender and Wings3D are n00b friendly. Wings3D moreso.

Take this advice.. If you want to get started in 3D.. and you get a program that is used by a good chunk of people.. If you have problems with this program and say it's too hard to model with it.. It's almost always the user and hardly ever the program. Just pick a program that looks promising.. And stick with it. RTFM, as elitists like to say.. (Read the f*cking manual)

3D Modeling isn't easy to grasp. So download Blender and Wings3D, start reading and expirimenting. Stick with them.. And you'll go places.
