So i was listening to David Bowie's "Suffragette City" a few days ago (being the sucker for the classics, that i am ;D) and i noticed something odd. During the begging-middle-ish of the song the main line is pronounced Suffra-JET City, whereas i can distinctly hear it pronounced Suffra-GET City.
Is this a mistake on Bowie's part or am I simply not hearing it correctly?
Cheers,
Fluke.
David does not make mistakes!
Everything he does is brilliant! And you should check your ears.
Ignore him and use the original Australian term "Suffragist", both of you.
Bowie is probably having a "play on words" there, such as to say you can "GET" what you want in that city.Ã, I love the line in that song: "Ahhhhhh... Wham, Bam, thankyou Mam!".
It's been a while since I listened to some of the 'ol Bowie tunes, but yeah, he's an amazing artist.
