Title: Dedicated hosting
Post by: Peder 🚀 on Sat 29/05/2010 01:00:55
Hey guys!

Does any of you know of any good dedicated hosting companies out there?
Instead of waiting for something to maybe happen to the server agsarchives.com is on now I'd like to start thinking of getting a dedicated server, besides it will save me the time it would take to move everything since there arent many games i've had time to upload yet!

Best regards,
Peder Johnsen.

HardyDev's host is very happy with and would definitely recommend Linode: http://www.linode.com/

VPS is definatly a yes in my book, and linode does look good, they have a problem for me that many others do.. not enough storage! :P. I need a bunch load of storage. To bad they dont offer "storage addon" and "bandwidth addon".

My personal web host is amazing. After years of jumping from host to host I finally settled on this one and have been very happy with their service, prices, and uptime. They also offer VPS now.

I tried slicehost for a while and learned that VPS doesn't interest me. They are supposed to be one of the best out there.

For your specific needs though, dreamhost sounds like the better choice. I don't know if you are going to find the extra storage you are looking for with most VPS services. At least not without the huge prices.

Good luck,

They offer just that.

1GB for an extra $2 a month
Bandwidth: 100GB for $10
additional IP addresses for $1 each and extra RAM for $5 for 90MB

It's all fully prorated so if you find yourself not using any of that, you can take it away and get refunded for what you haven't used.
You can also choose to pay for features on a yearly basis instead of monthly.
