Just a perefect day (not the song)

Well, this has been a fantastic day for me. And for other people I know too. And it got me wondering if this day has been great for everyone?

Strange thought, but actually, everyone I know, including people in other countries, happened to have a great day also, with great news, or had fun, or whatever.

I got word that I have a scholarship for another 2 years (which provides a lot of money).
I also got my final results for my Masters (MMus in composition) and I did very good. I got 72%, which is pass with distinction.
I also started working on some new music, for which I'm pretty happy.
Generally this has been a perfect day.

What about the rest of you? How was your day (or if the day's begining. how do you feel)?

I know that generally I'm an optimist, which makes me believe that this thread won't be locked... heh?

When I first saw this thread I was wondering if you were being sarcastic...

Wasn't a great day for me.  It was rainy and cold, thus thoroughly killing the whole mood of the day.  And my older brother's computer died.  And that wooden duck is staring at me... his eyes are always watching...  So today wasn't good for me.  But it wasn't that bad.

It's rained almost constantly, and the simple, routine inspection of our gas meter revealed two leaks, one of which has probably been there, slowly poisoning us for 3 years. Now, in order to shut off our gas supply, we had three workmen digging up out driveway for 5 hours, and using strange machines that omit ear-piercing squeals with alarming frequency for no readily apparent reason. So, it's still raining (lighter, I'll admit, but did I mention the window right next to my bed has sprung 2 leaks?), it's cold, we have no heating, no cooker and no way to heat water for a shower in the morning. And they're coming back bright & early tomorrow, to finish the job. I think I heard the phrase "about a 20 hour job" bandied about, but I'm not sure what it related to.

On the cosmic scale, I guess it wasn't so bad (no cooker = went out to eat, and I guess not being gassed and/or blowed up in my sleep is a plus), but it seemed like a right pain at the time.

Too many negative happenings to call it a good day - or night, since I had nightshift.

I've been working at a silicon production for 4 years now and all of a sudden I'm a 'risk for the company' because they found out I'm slightly color blind (which had mentioned on a medical cerificate they received when I started to work for them). Now I can only do half of the things I did before (despite doing everything for 3.5 years) and my chances of promotion are practically zero.
They say they might change the equipment to make them suitable for color blind people so I can work 100% again, though. I sure hope they do, otherwise I'll have to look for a different job.

So no, it wasn't a good day/night. It also sucks to be color blind.

Let's call today "bittersweet." I just dropped 400 dollars so my fiancee (make believe there's an accent mark above tat 'e,' because I'm too lazy to pull up the ASCII character map) could visit me for Thanksgiving. Bloody american holidays. It woulda cost 99 bucks if we weren't eating turkey...Ã, 

This is the last time I get to see her before we get married, and I don't think we're getting married for another eight months or so. Plus, when she goes home sportin' a rock, I know everyone is going to be mad, everyone in New Hampshire (where she's from) hates me.

I feel like I should asnwer each and everyone of you...
But I won't. Just checked the 1st answer (King_Nippers'), and btw I'm in real need for that money so no [lgm], but anyway if yuou can offer some services then why not  , and I really have nothing to say.

His older brother just lost his computer and now, no one will be able to do his art for Goose Quest 1. There is nothing good to that. Ashen, was breathing gas for 3 years and Bernie is half way to being fired because the ediots at the company never noticed the medical certificate on the first place. And, esper, all around the world it's he same thing with airlines. BTW why do they hate you in New Hampshire.

Hopes: Nipper, I hope yuor brother gets a better computer, and btw you're old enough to get rid of that wooden duck..
Ashen: 20 hours is less than a day. It's already been 7 hours from your post, another 13 and you're ok.
Bernie: Hope they change the equipment, but even if they don't and you end up in a different job (which I hope won't happen), there is always the possibility to find a new, better job, where you'l be more respected..
Esper: You'll get to see your fiancee man. That's great. Forget that you paid 400$ and forget that you won't see her again for another 8 months. You'll se your fiancee. And,I sure hope that you're planing on liveing far away from New Hampshire otherwise...

Honestly I hope that my day sucks today, cause I don't like standing out like that!

Random update:
More workmen have been, fixed the problem in about an hour, and left. The hole is being fulled in, and will be concreted over tomorrow (it takes up most of the pavement outside the house, so they couldn't just leave it). I now have the afternoon free, and am off the pub.

Today is a good day.

Hmmm... lets see, been feeling rather ill, yet still had to go to early morning lectures. Then when I was looking forward to going home, the train was cancelled and I had to arse about for an hour 'til the next bus. Still feeling ill, and have another early morning lecture tomorrow too.

But hey, its my birthday soon, so it can only get better, right?

I'm getting some pretty crappy days. About 11 assignments at the same time always anoys you. Then of course I have to find some time to go on the AGS Forums and create my games. But other than that it's pretty good :'(
