Anyone got any tips for losing these man boobs? I don't care about the rest, but damn dem titties.

My personal tip involves moving the sweets further away from the keyboard.

I've also got a reasonable pair of  moobs.  I'm too scared to do any upper body exercise though, in  case it just causes them to firm up rather than gets rid of them :-/

The thing with excersize is that you actually need to keep it up for the rest of your life pretty much: If I lose weight going to the gym daily, then stopping would get me back to being fat! No?

If you don't excercise and stop watching your diet, it's chubby time again, as well. Going to the gym daily would be a bit overkill. 3 times a week usually is enough (depends on your training).

Muscular man boobs are pretty rad! :=

Yes, structured diets are bullshit. No, weight is not entirely genetically determined. Yes, it is a product of both lifestyle and genetics.

What you eat and how active you are influences your weight, the magnitude of that influence is determined by metabolism. It would be ignorant to say that the food you eat and your level of physical activity have no effect on your body. If I chose to eat only Big Macs for the rest of my life delivered to me by my servant boy Jacques directly to my La-Z-Boy which I never leave, would my above-average metabolism keep me from gaining weight and becoming at risk of heart disease? Probably not. I'd also postulate that after a year of that lifestyle, it would be difficult if not impossible to return to my current healthy state and if I did, losing the weight would take much longer than gaining it. As I see it, obesity is much easier to prevent than cure and we as a society should encourage our children to develop healthy eating and exercise habits.

But no, "going on a diet" for a few months won't work.

According to BMI charts, I used to be nice and underweight when I was younger, but then I got a bit healthy. :undecided:

I've got a few tips of my own. Nothing major or new, just stuff that is easy to remember and easy to get into routine:

  • have some water by your side whenever you can (preferably more than just a small bottle, so that you don't have to keep refilling it all the time). Whenever you start feeling a bit peckish, just drink some water instead. I read somewhere that sometimes you think you're hungry when you're in fact just thirsty (something along those lines, anyway)

  • on a related note, try to avoid those artificial soft drinks altogether. There's really too much sugar in there, and all sorts of other unhealthy stuff. I know this one takes a bit more determination to become a habit, but just try to visualise all that sugar you're consuming the next time you drink something like that. Yuck.

  • know your weaknesses. If you bought a bag of sweets or crisps or whatever and couldn't resist eating the whole thing in a matter of minutes, don't be too harsh on yourself for not having enough will-power to stop sooner, but try thinking of what made you do it in the first place and keep it in mind for next time. If you know you're gonna eat everything at once, just get something smaller instead. Keep it out of your reach and eyesight. Kinda like what Chicky said before (about sweets, that is)

  • it doesn't hurt to eat at least one fruit every day. Just something you like. I used to make orange juice every morning, and that really tasted good, but it only lasted until our electric squeezer broke down. Regular squeezers are really annoying for everyday use, and I think you can get them electric ones pretty cheap anyway
Hmm..it's kinda steep. But with a sled I can slide down the slope.
