Anybody know? I really want to play it.

try ebay, or the lucasarts store on their website (if they actually have a store on the website that is), people here most likely won't help you with piracy, and LOOM isn't that a good a game anyway, i've played medium length AGS games that last longer, innovative control system though...

Some of us don't have a choice you know. Think about the Norwegians:
Game: let's say 5£ + 2.5£ for the postal stuff
The payment: Costs around 15 £ from one of the cheapest post office to send the money.
Result: 22.5£

I could get one of those "new and cool" games for that price. Luckily, my uncle had MI and MI2 on CD, and I managed to get Sam and Max/DOTT double pack at Space World.

But seriously, any game I support that I can get without paying an giant fee, I'm buying.

It's licence run out so google for it.

Actually, I think I read somewhere that Lucas Arts isn't allowed to produce LOOM on cd and I'm pretty sure they don't sell the floppy version on their website, so your only hope would probably be either Ebay (I've seen some copies there, I believe) or, unfortunately, abandonware sites. Someone who knows more about the situation could probably tell you more, though.

Damien: I'd be careful linking to abandonware on these forums. I think it's in the rules.

Oh and to get Loom, you could try and buy it. It would probably be hard to find a cheap copy of it. The other alternative is abandonware, and yeah, it shouldnt be too hard to find. Remember Google is your friend...

edit:
Quote6. Please do not discuss warez here. Abandonware discussion is okay because abandonware is unsupported. If you want warez, go find it yourself. Or better yet, buy the bloody game.
Well I would say Loom is abandonware so yeah...

Where did they ever have a press release about that?

I'd be very interested. I'm not trying to make fun of you. I think it would be newsworthy, thats all.

If you had clicked on the link LGM had posted you could of read the following explanation:
Quote
LucasArts cannot distribute the CD-ROM version due to existing licensing agreements with Mindscape (which is now defunct). Basically the company would still be selling the CD-ROM version if they could. To use this patch, you *must* have a legitimate floppy version of Loom - which is included in the "Classic Adventures Archive" compilation sold at LucasArts store.

So LucasArts still sell and support the floppy version, but the CD version has had to be abandoned for licensing reasons. If you want to get into some argument over the exact semantics of what "abandonware" is I think I'd rather leave you to it.
