Just been to see this film.
It was terrifying.  I've never shat myself so much at the cinema.
The whole handheld camera thing seems to be the craze these days but it pulls it off almost as well as Cloverfield.  It was certainly scarier and just as intense as Cloverfield.

I didn't do a lot of research about the film before going in but I knew three things before I went in:
a) it's in Spanish
b) it's a handheld camera thing
c) it's supposed to be fucking scary

That was enough for me to book the seat, and seeing as I work at the cinema I hope I'm not going to be the one who has to clean it.

I've heard of this movie on TV, and would love to see it  ;D and I only know as much as you did before going in.

That's not difficult, I didn't think it was scary  :-\ Intense yes, but scary, nope.

I'm gonna see this at Nightvisions, a two-day all-night horror film festival in Helsinki, this weekend. I remember it got rave reviews when it was first released at the Sitges Film Festival back in October. I'm happy euro-horror isn't stagnating, but I'm also very wary about the whole handheld camera mockumentary thing. It's not something I would encourage to become a standard in film-making.

Also, very cool thread topic :D.

Hmmm...
Hollywood has already got its grubby hands all over it and a remake, set in Los Angeles, is due for release in October.

I'm not longer in a position to slag off remakes (see my signiture), but I can't help but feel a little disappointed.  This spanish original is a great film... it doesn't need rehashing:(  But, who know's maybe it will be just as good.

Bloody Americains keep making remakes of good foreign horror movies  :( >:(

anyway. I might give this a try. I'm always looking for horror movies that suppose to be scary.

Horror movies are my arch enemy. Next to Dick Dawkins, Anime-writers and Brits who say "bruv".

Pity is I enjoy horror movies at the time, but afterwards I'm always up the whole night with nightmares.
