What is a good free recording program.

I had just gotten my own mircophone and I was wondering what is a good free recording program (or at least a program with a trail period).

I used ACID Pro for a while. It was good, but had only this 30 days try out period, I think. After that I think I've been playing out with Quartz Audio Master, but that's a bit crappy, well, good enough, but *hard* to use. I don't even know if that's free anymore...

So I'd suggest ACID pro... but... the best one's you get from the local shop...
