Well, it's to be said, since we got here. I'm quite the attention whore, also I find it to be a chore to pm everyone I think might be affected and i hate posting on facebook for stuff like that.
On the 21st of January I'll be departing for obligatory military service, for 9 months. Eventually they'll let us out and I may be or may not be close to internet access. Regardless, to whoever it may concern I'm going to be more absent than usual. And then I'll most likely take up on opportunity for work abroad.
To everyone I've met these 6 years, sorry and it's been nice. Special mentions go to: Ponch, bicilotti, Ghost, qptain_nemo, Snake, m0ds. Probably forgetting someone. Anyhow. That's that.
DramaNames,
I hope your time in service passes quickly and that you meets lots of exciting people. I was in the military myself for several years and I enjoyed the experience very much. I hope you do too.
I'm sure we'll hear from you again. Internet poles are sprouting up everywhere these days. :=
Duals, hope you get through that service without any troubles. If they give you a loaded weapon, please do me a favour and shoot a seagull. Just one. Preferrably in the head. If they don't give you a loaded weapon, and you still see a seagull, make a rude gesture into its general direction. Just take care not to insult an albatros.
Has always been fun having you around, friend, so after shooting the seagull, steal its mobile. I hear you can enter the forums with those things!
You probably don't know me, but I've always enjoyed reading your two-cents on just about any issue of interest. The community is worse-off without you, and I look forward to your triumphant return. Best of luck in your adventure ahead.
Gonna suck not having you around dude. Have fun polishing boots....and...Crap I don't know anything about the military that I didn't learn from Top Gun. Try to find a good wingman?
Good luck!
I've known several online friends to go into mandatory military service, sadly we lost communication after that.. hopefully you'll be able to maintain your friends afterward. Good luck :)
You need to come here to visit your family
... and since you are an adventurer you'll find a hotspot to login sometimes for sure ;)

Good luck for your ride!
If you were to move to England and have a civil ceremony, could you get out of it?
Otherwise, best of luck man, and try to pop by once in a while :)
Hi Dual!
I was a bit sad that you didn't post on the forum a lot recently. :~( And now you are 9 months in ;) ?
I wish you all the best, take care.

Well that's a shame. But don't forget to wear 2 pairs of socks on your feet, it'll help lessen the blisters.
Oh, you'll be back.
You're one of the best obnoxious-newbie-turned-respected-member stories we've had here!

The single best piece of advice anyone could give you. (nod)
Goodbye, I wish I had gotten to know you better. Actually I know none of you well so... Bye!
Dumb post removed.
I hope they don't make you into a real man in the army because I'd terribly miss you being the little bitch you are <3
Having said that, I will terribly miss you either way and if it was in my power I'd abolish the military and the government for doing that to you. I hope they disqualify you for everything and send back home earlier.
Anyway, I'll be waiting for your return like for blowjobs! Take care, bro.
Swift return, buddy. According to my wife 9 months passes like a blink of an eye.... ;)
I don't think the army's as bad as it once was. They're not allowed to hit you or flog you any more for one thing, and tactics seemed to have improved since the line-up-and-give-them-something-to-shoot-at days. You'll probably learn a lot, not just about how much you will probably loathe the institution, but about yourself and other people and things you'd never have been exposed to otherwise. I say make the most of it, have fun, and get the heck out of there as soon as you can!

You will love the army or be flogged!!!
Spoken like a man with a monocle. Tsk tsk, Baron. Don't you know DramaNames needs words of encouragement right now, not your jingoistic bluster? (wrong)
Quote from: Ponch on Mon 24/12/2012 02:57:16Tsk tsk, Baron. Don't you know DramaNames needs paraphrases of military movie quotes to encourage him right now? :-*
Every minute you stay on this forum, you get weaker, and every minute Charlie squats in the bush, he gets stronger. Like end-boss strong. You don't have three-wheel brakes, so you got to pitch it hard, break it loose and then just drive it with the throttle. Give it too much, you'll be outta the dirt and into the tulips. You follow, son?
Misquote me again and "I'll hit you with so many rights you'll be begging for a left."
My favorite Chuck Norris movie ever! :cheesy:
This thread has turned from sad and maudlin to fun and exciting. Dualnames should start more threads! :=

Yeah! Nine times as many as he normally starts over the next month, so that we can coast through the following nine months without going through Dualnames withdrawal! :-D

Yes, this is exactly what should happen! :cheesy:
Bye, Duals! :~(
...starts work on a "Welcome back, Duals!" thread due for posting in roughly 9 months and 21 days from now.
Holy mother of giant throbbing penises. I wish I'd seen this thread before I went and posted mine. Now I just look like a whorish copycat. To Hell with you Dualnames! To Hell with all of you!
Except Dualnames. I still love him.
Best of luck to you buddy, you will definitely be missed! I hope you find your way back to us, most do :=
Tonight we drink to Dualnames!
Best of luck Dual, I hope you learn much from the experience. It won't be the same around here without you, I look forward to your return. It's not a question of 'if' you'll be back.. You will
Belated Happy Christmas and best wishes for the coming year.
Best of luck, sir! It was great working with you on Primordia. And now you have the best excuse to get out of fixing any future bugs! :)
Best of luck Dual, I too did army time. This was some 16 years ago when in Portugal we were forced to go. I remember getting really annoyed with the fact that I didn't have a choice. I did about 8 months in.
But, soon after leaving, I realized that it was a experience that I would profit later in my life.
I wish I got to know you better all this years, but it was enough to know that you're a good man.
And I know you will be back (in the forums). They always do.
Take care and follow the 2 pairs of socks advice.
What a day to leave for the army, I must say it's not a very good birthday present... but that's selfish of me. I will miss you, Dualie. Over the years we've grown to be pretty good friends. Like I've told you a million times before, you are the best friend I've never met. You are one of those people I look forward to seeing every week. Maybe it's a good thing you started to not show up at the band meetings! You were weening me, weren't you, Jimbini!? ;)
(lol, I just reread the above... it's only 9 months, Snake! Christ, he's not leaving for good!)
I have no doubt you'll do a great job and I'm sure it'll be quite the experience for you as well. Keep in touch! We all will be looking forward to hearing from you from time to time!
