Yep, saw it earlier this week, personally I like it but i've heard some moans already :/

sedriss

I saw it yesterday. Teh awesome! I loooove the fact that you are gonna see the emperor fight.
By the time you read this you've already read it.

I think it's quite good. Maybe little low on content, but there are some memorable bits of imagary in there. It's looks like it might be moving back towards the old whimsical mythological style, in contrast to the somewhat more generic sci-fi shenanigans that made up much of the first two prequels (though I do think I and II are both unjustly despised).

Kind of surprising to see Palpatine suddenly back to his Return Of The Jedi self, though. I'm not sure how they're planning on explaining that.

Flippy_D

Ooh, it's out one day afore my Birthday.

Agreed that the first two were much-maligned beyond necessary, although the first one deserved it more than the second. The second one did a decent job, I thought, but alas, it wasn't very memorable.

Still, you have to see it, I suppose.

BerserkerTails

Yeah, I saw it on Friday, before The Incredibles (Which was a VERY good movie, I might add). I think it looks REALLY good, and I'm glad that it didn't give any of the plot away. I like the "series of images" style trailer, I think it works with the Star Wars movies, which are still just supposed to be Serials, in the form of Flash Gordon.

I particularly can't wait to see Kashyyyk (The Wookie planet). It looks pretty sweet.
I make music.

Darth Mandarb

I too thought it looked pretty sweet!

As for it not showing much, I believe it's just the teaser trailer, thus is does that perfectly right? ;)

I have been (somewhat) disappointed in the way the first two were trashed by viewers.Ã,  But I would have to agree they weren't as good as they should have been.Ã,  I really like them anyhow ... blind loyalty I guess.

LGM

After the last two flops, I still can't understand why ANYONE is excited about this one.

Teh teaser and trailer are always better than the movie.

I'm excited about the trailer!!!!!  :=

Sylpher

The 'space' fights look much better then in episode I & II already. Anakin's transformation into Vader is looking more and more like a whiney bitch who didn't get his way (annoying) I was hoping for more, but we shall see.

man sorry for what I'm gona say but you had to be on drugs if you liked starwars episode two. But I think your a little confused. Maybee your thinking of the second movie that is actualy episode 5.

Why would the make episode 3? I read somewhere that all six movies were actualy already planed when the firs movie came out. Lets hope that this movie will be better though. But episode 4,5,6 rock thou  :D

Episode 2 was a good movie, but not a very good Starwars-movie.
By the time you read this you've already read it.

Sedriss is like, totally right there.

LGM

I have to agree.. Ep. 1&2 were half-way decent movies on their own.. But when tied together with the original trilogy, it doesn't even hold a candle to it..

But I'm kind-of boycotting anything done by Geroge Lucas now because he won't release the ORIGINAL version of Star Wars.. The films people actually saw in theaters. I don't care what his REAL vision was, I want to see what he achieved with what he had back in the 70's.

The new films are all nice and shiney and pretty now, yes.. But I'm sure the value has diminished in them. Bring on the originally cut releases on DVD.. Remastered of course, but not digitally altered.

Just finished watching the trailer. To be honest, I'm not impressed.  Most of it looked like computer graphics with the occasional live actor.  You'd think that after the amazing sucess of using live actors for monsters in Lord of the Rings, they might realize that live actors can look a hell of a lot cooler than CG stuff.  The pan across the bad guy soldiers made me laugh.

However, the Wookie Army looks cool.  But they're played by real actors. Coincidence? I think not!

I think you aren't looking at it in the right light when it comes to live action vs. CG, but your opinion is yours.

LGM, Sure maybe you would like to see the originals as they were, but if that is how he wants them what good is any form of boycotting going to do? He is an artist, of sorts, and ultimatley he makes the call of what goes into his art.. Who are you to say what he should and shouldn't do? If you don't like it fine.. just don't watch them..

CommaToes

I think the firefly movie will be better than this, but who knows.

The trailer was ok, but the poster is horrible.

The reason I mention live action vs. CG is because from that trailer there was almost nothing else to discuss other than the eye candy.  We get some longer shots from movies that have already been made, and then a series of "oo, pretty!" shots that go by so quickly you can barely identify what's going on.  And I wasn't impressed by the "oo, pretty" shots because they looked fake.

Investigating the actual proposed plot, yes, that looks interesting. We're finally getting to the story I've been looking forward to for the past however-many years. But the trailer looks flat and dull.

Boycotting and not watching them is the same thing, just with a different name.

I agree with the Dragon Lady!

When it came to episode 2 and Yoda fighting, everyone was like "THAT WAS AWESOME!" and I just didn't see the awesomeness, seeing Jackie Chan beat up 30 guys with a ladder is awesome because [while fake] it is real people moving about the world, Yoda is a 3d object added in post and Chistopher Lee is just swinging his lightsaber around wildly in a bluescreen room...

People could say I thought about it too much but I had a hard time not thinking about all the CGI since it's just flat out in your face computer generated images, it's kinda hard not to. [Especially with the princess' space ship, did they just get Bryce and wanted to mess around with raytracing?]

Anyway, enough ranting, I just don't understand how some movies can blend the CGI with the live action so well [LotR] and others just can't do it for the life of them
