Whoo hoo!!! I never thought we'd win this game! I was hoping for a good performance, but never for a win! Although, in all honesty, I was kinda hoping the Portugese'd play this bad, it's like the curse of the opening match (France Vs Senegal, Argentina Vs Cameroon etc). Oh and forgive me but Greeks don't have very limited talent

It's true that Greek players aren't as talented as some other European players (though we have some really talented ones), but it's not talent they lack, it's organization and teamwork. Which is something that Herr Otto has brought to the team

I'm still sceptical about Greece passing through the group phase, and I'm pretty certain that Portugal will make it through, they are the hosts after all, they always get a slight "push", if you know what I mean. Though Mr. Scholari needs to organize his team better, because his tactics were abysmal today. Not that I mind, of course.

these russians were really funny, with the lack of teamwork, their passig seemed like passing to a tree. Teh lol.

Spain has to stop being lazy. We all know that it is more fun to be at a fiesta, kill a bull, eat paella and sleep with a lovely latin girl than play football against some Siberian miners, but these are 3 points just as well. Spain hoped that due to their quality advantage, the goal will come by itself. And so it did, but it might not happen another time. If they have just put more effort into it they would have won much more easily.

By the way, Nacho, how come the second captain is a Basque (or is Canizares the second one)? Has it happened before or am I just being racist?

First of all, I LOVE GREECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put my money on them and they beat Portugal, so now I'm rich! Yey!
Anyway, since my country is out, now I'm rooting for Russia, Greece and Bulgaria. Bulgaria has three players from Serbia, two of them in the first team.

Tomorrow (actually, it's already today) England will comfortably beat France, and Switzerland will destroy Croatia.
Russia lost, but I still think they will qualify from the group and hopefully win the championship (I bet on that, in fact). They only have to beat the weary Portugal and our brothers Greeks will win against Spain (sorry FarlanderÃ,Â

Yes, I've seen Lampard play a lot. Excellent player, but the French double pivot is still considerably better. I've also seen Owen play.

Pires might be a cheater, but he is also the best midfielder in the Premier League.

It's kinda strange, the captain should have been CaÃ±izares (It's funny for the that you don't have the "Ã'"...

). I also think that Puyol, the Captain of Barcelona should have been nice, or Albelda, the Captain of the Spanish'League Champion, Valencia... Maybe we should have in mind that SÃ¡ez, the coach is Basque, if not, EtxeberrÃa shouldn't have been the captain, or even in the roster, JoaquÃn is better.

Yeah, but what about Wayne Rooney vs. the whole of the French defense :P. I'm not sure how the match will go but the England defense play against Henry in the premiership so they'll know how he plays.

Yes Petter, it was easier to be a powerfull sport nation when all a system was trying to hide its own miseries (Russia).

and Barcik, Manolo el del Bombo (Manolo of the drum) has a Bar in front of Mestalla, the stadium of Valencia. I've seen it, but never been inside.

They know him very well. After all, he did score against them 28 times, not to speak of assists.
