And I lost my money again! DAMN! Denmark played badly and couldn't beat that joke od the Italy team. And Bulgaria... well, I still believe they will overcome this loss and go to the second round.
Tomorrow Letonia beats Czech Republic!
None shall pass!

You must have lost a considerable amount of money recently,Harvester. It was a tough match though. Knocking on the door all the time, 28 shots on goal and lucky win at the end. Very good organisation and excellent defense on Latvian side.

Vel

Yeah, Barcik, probably the Swedes would have won the match even without the ref's help but still, it feels bad. And they are a team that do not need help from the refferee. And Berbatov is quite good in finishing, he just wasn't given a chance with ball in his feet in a shooting position.

I'm still sceptical about Greece passing through the group phase, and I'm pretty certain that Portugal will make it through, they are the hosts after all, they always get a slight "push", if you know what I mean. Though Mr. Scholari needs to organize his team better, because his tactics were abysmal today. Not that I mind, of course. :P

I heard Greece was one of the best in its group. And yeah, I suppose you're right about that push, but with the traditional Portuguese luck (has lost alotta times before due to those damn "pushes", I dunno that happens... Just if Porto's players play all in a match. And of course if Victor Baía is playing too. Figo can be ill as he was in the Mundial: should be sent right now in a "no-scale" flight to Barcelona, so he could pass one month in a hospital due to alotta REAL illnesses and hounds.

The problem of football "stars" is they usually play well when they sense alotta $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Otherwise they play like "chit".

Ha ha... Spain repeating the same sins as ever... cowardy and a blind faith in that wraith of the area called Raúl... There are no creative players in the middle field, if Sáez (the coach of the juniors before training the national team, let's remember...Ã,  :P) does not put Xavi and Valerón in the starting schedule Spain won't be in the next round.

Edit: Lol... when I wrote schedule, I meant roster.  ;D
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Pfft, what a weak match between Holland and Germany yesterday. Two teams with nothing to show. The Czech are far from great either.

Spain as always insist on shooting themselves in the foot. Instead of putting in some effort and gaining the quarter-final spot already today, Spain will probably have to battle a motivated Portugal. Why make your life tougher, why? However, at least against Portugal, Spain won't lazyass, what promises any neutral fan a good match.
As it was against Russia, Spain played as if the goal would come by itself, and as it was against Russia, it did. The way Raul and Morientes co-operated to create that goal is just why they should play together. Vicente was less dominant then he was against Russia, and who really played well was Joaquin in the right side. He showed us a real Spanish winger; Why give a simple cross when you can dribble past the defender in front of you? The Baraja-Albelda double pivot disappointed me again. From Valencia's players, one of the only teams in the Primera who do not play nonchalantly, I didn't expect such laziness. Valeron this time wasn't as effective as in the previous match, largely due to the 3 players marking put on him. Helguera showed off the skills he gained in the Real Madrid "defence", with a ridicilous miss of the pass that became an assist. And again, above all, the man, the legend in making, the best defender in the world, Carles Puyol. Man, how I wish Barca got some proper central defenders so that he can return to the right.

Greece this time weren't quite as ready as they were against Portugal, probably due to the larger difference in the quality level. Nevertheless, all compliments to the defense who marked El Moro and Raul so well. Also, the goalscorer, Charisteas, seems like an excellent B level striker.

Now, presuming Portugal will beat Russia (not at all sure. I won't be surprised if they crush under the pressure), we shall have one great last match.

Go Greece!! Whoo hoo!!! I never expected that they'd play so well. Today we were kinda lucky, it has to be said. As Barcik said, Spain is a better team than Portugal (plus one of the key players of that match, Basinas, wasn't playing today) and that's why Greece didn't seem quite as ready this time, but I'm amazed by how well we played. Again, I bow before Herr Otto! It seems that we might even pass through the group phase, especially if Portugal defeats Russia tonight.

QuoteAlso, the goalscorer, Charisteas, seems like an excellent B level striker.

He's ok, but nothing spectacular, even for a B-level striker. Watch out for another striker, Papadopoulos, he hasn't played yet, but if he does, I'm pretty sure he'll make an impact.

QuoteI heard Greece was one of the best in its group.
As far as quality is concerned, Greece is the worst team in the group. But we have a good "team", and a good defense overall, which helps our style of play.

Generally, though, I can't say I've liked this competition so far... Most games have been pretty boring. Here's hoping we'll see better matches after the group phase is over.

An enjoyable first half from Greece and Russia, both teams have improved greatly since their first match. Unfortunately, the ref's decision to send Ovchinikov off might prove fatal to the match. Of course, I can't really blame him, it was really hard to see that he didn't touch the ball with his hands.

The match between Greece and Spain has been horrible, the goalies haven't swet.  :P

How many "real" oportunities had the Spaniards? Just the goal one. Albelda and Baraja are ok to destroy the rival's game, but they don't create, we need Xavis (Alonso and Xavi) and Valerón.

Hi!

At least Portugal showed it can play well. At least: I hope not at last.

Bah! Russia were robbed. AGAIN! I hate this competition already. And it's not because I'm losing large amounts of money. Now I can only root for Greece and Bulgaria.
Well, at least Croatia is going to lose tomorrow...

Another tip of yours? If so I'm going to place a huge bet on Croatian victory ASAP ;D

Vel

Now that I watch Russia I see that Bulgaria doesn't play at all bad. The football russians play is worse than italian, they did not have one goal opportunity throughout the whole match.

TheDude

Well coverage of the England match starts in two and a half hours from now! Come on the Swiss!! ;)

Spyros

I always bet against Greece.
I lost all my money but at least I'm happy that we will probably qualify for the next round (I hope against England because France is a little difficult for us  :) )
