As excited as I been feeling the last couple of days with some good news in my personal life, I feel at bit sad at the news I just read that Pat Morita, famously known for playing the role of an old Karate Master who teaches "Daniel-san" in the "Karate Kid" movies, has just passed away.  :'(

I seen those movies so many times, and I was really inspired so much by those movies of his over the years, so I feel like I'm losing an old friend in a sense.

Oh, poor Mr. Miyagi...

My condolences for you too, Mr. Barbarian, my granny passed away last week and, while this deaths of "famous" people are so less important for us, they can be the drop which make the glass flood and turn you more sad than the "real life" bad news, actually... Be strong.  :'(
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

My condolences to both of you guys. I never got to know my grandparents very well, becuase they all died very early in my life (when I was 5), and fortunately I have never lost someone close to me. But loosing a grandmother, who was with you for the last 26 years must be hard.

And from what I understand from you Barbarian, you are a very sensetive guy. And I really liked Pat Morita.

:'(

Barbarian

Sorry about your Grandmother Farlander, you have my condolences.
And I'm sorry if you took some kind of personal offence at my previous post here, as it was not meant in any way as an attack or to belittle anyone's personal feelings....

I guess there's some "unwritten rule" here that I'm not aware of that people shouldn't post such news.

Best regards.

I'm sure that Farlander will jump in any time to explain things, but I don't think he took any kind of offence.

I stand to my previous post.

And since I can post about the birth of my baby, you can post about a death. If you feel close to Pat, for whatever reason, and you might very well do then, why not?

Squinky

Thats sucks, I liked him in his movies.

No no... of course not. I was pointing that, whereas you can remain cold during the time when "real life bad news" are happening, this "famour deaths" can finally work as the drop that floods the glass... And make you collapse.

That's why I mentioned that I understand your position, Barbarian. The matter that you were "happy" for "real life good news" and I was just "fine", does not affect. We both turned into sad for this news. So... I repeat... be strong!

And thanks all people for the condolences, but granny was ill for a long time and her death was more a relief than real bad news. I hoped she reached a hundred years, but with health. And she was not in good health... Ã, So it's ok, life goes on. :-\

Farlander: Thanks for explaining things a bit clearer... looks like I probably misunderstood your previous post and thought you were somewhat insulted because I had mentioned the news about a "famous" actor.
*Shakes Farlander's hand*     Best wishes to you and your family through this difficult time of having a loved one pass away.

Farlander, I understand how you feel, when my own grandma was slowly dwindling away. Leukimia, athritis, you name it, she had it! You have my condolences.

Pat has died? Dam, he was cool!

And then there's George Best, too. RIP.

That would probably be some kind of comment about the three J? (Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morisson and Jannis Joplin). It is around your mother (and mine), time...

trying to lighten up the atmosphere a little (although not very succesfully...) :-\

Actually, most things comes in threes, whether they are good or bad. "An accident is seldom alone" etc

The good news it that it could have been worse; the numeric obsession could have relyed solely on sevens instead!

Just heard on BBC News24 that Rally Driver Richard Burns has died aged just 34 after a two year battle with a Brain Tumour - I guess that makes three.  :(
