Esseb, have you tried to check "Show results as messages"?
I agree that should be checked by default.

Esseb

Well, that was a fast fix. Thanks Strazer.

Gilbert

I didn't want to dig this up, but but but...

Heh oops, thanks for pointing that out. Should be fixed now:
palette.r = 10;

Anyway, the forum has just been upgraded to SMF 1.0 RC1. If you notice that anything has dropped off or isn't working properly, do let me know.

dasjoe

the top thingy is now transparent.
Hey, hX, you have X messages, 0 are new.

Yes, the top thingy looks weird. Also, the links on the top and bottom of thread (AGS Forums | General | General Discussion etc. etc.) get underlined when you move a cursor over it, and it looks bad in my opinion. I also noticed that those links in posts (Reply, Modify) seem to have smaller font than earlier.

Not like that here.. Opera or IE

Pumaman

Ah got it, for some reason the upgrade started labelling the page as XHTML compliant when it blatantly isn't, which seemed to be causing the problems.

I hope it's ok now.

It used to be like that before the move to SMF 1.0 as well and it was (and is again now) really annoying. Well, the underlining I couldlive with, it is the way all the text shifts to the left when you move over each of them that is wonky. Oddly enough, it works perfectly in here in the reply page. CJ, have you jibbled with the settings as well as upgrading the forum?

Edit: The reason it worked in the reply page was because you'd fixed the XHTML problem meanwhile. It works splendidly now. Carry on.

Pumaman

The text doesn't move around for me when I mouse over the links. And personally I rather like the underlining :P

No, I deliberately didn't change any settings just now, I wanted to make sure the new forum works the same as the old one.

mousemat

what exactly has changed i dont notis anything new it all looks the same.
???

Esseb

The entire line got underlined CJ, and the "Topic: " bit and onward would get red as well. Anyway, it's fine now after you jibbled with the doctype.

The differences are subtle, but many...

Actually, I haven't noticed any difference either. If anybody does notice any funky new RC1 features, do let us know ;)

MrColossal

Ok forgive me, I'd suggest this to you on IRC but you're not there, hey CJ, how about an icon that appears next to the persons name when it's their birthday?
"This must be a good time to live in, since Eric bothers to stay here at all"-CJ also: ACHTUNG FRANZ!

Suggestions, eh?

How about having the ability to make avatars up to 96 x 96 pixels big? that seems to be the norm these days (well, at least in http://forums.idlethumbs.net/ )

Domino

I've always thought the forums could use larger avatars. Like netmonkey said.Ã,  Maybe a max of 100 by 100 pixels.

Speaking of avatars, I can't figure out where to change mine now.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

Esseb

Before CJ gets any ideas, I veto the suggestion of bigger avatars. I say we go the opposite way and decrease their size. And the sigs as well. And the er, nick length.
