Forum upgrade: missing bits

Since moving to the new host I haven't been able to stay logged on from sesion to session as I was able to do before (i.e. checking the "always stay logged in'  box on the login dialog).  I have deleted and examined the cookies left by the forum.  They always specify "expires at end of session". 

Is anyone else having this problem or is this by design?

Ok, I found the "forum Upgrade" thread in the GenGen forum.  I did a search before posting here and obviously didn't find it til now. 

I also found a thread in the SMF support forum talking abut similar problems.   So I guess that I'm not alone and that eventually this will pass.

Can you try with IE and see if it works, just to make sure it's not a Firefox issue?

Using IE does the same thing so I don't think it's Firefox.

Coming to the forum through http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb ? Nowdays the security settings very easily block third party cookies...
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

when i come to the forums i just straight up type out www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb, i don't go to home page first, or have it favorited

OK, I got my Firefox working correctly.  I did the following to fix the problem and stay logged on forever using the Firefox browser.

  • Enter the forum forum  from http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php

  • Delete all cookies

  • Delete all exceptions, which I think may have been the problem.  (i.e. Allow, Block, etc) cookies from speciific sites.

  • Option: Allow sites to set cookies

  • Option: Ask me everytime

  • Repeat above procedure until it works
