Forum upgrade: missing bits

Since the "Hints and Tips" are game-related too, I think they belong in a "Games" category together with the CGA & GIP forums (simply renaming "Game Publicity" to "Games").

I think it's better to have all these icons ags-related (well in other words, all drawn as roger for lazy ones) than those mysterious blue squares.

I haven 't read a damn thing that's been posted, but one little tidbit I noticed...

When you search a forum member alphabetically, if you click on, say, "F", you get one half "E"s and one half "F"s.

That's because it just makes the list sorted by user names (which is the default when you click on member lists) and finds the first page with usernames starting with that alphabets, ie, it's not separating the pages according to different starting letter, and I think that's not necessary.

I think what is more needed, is to add a "#" link before "A", so to jump to usernames starting with nonalphabets (clicking page "1" does the same thing, BUT only if the list is currently set to be sorted according to usernames).

CJ, I keep trying to change my avatar, but it doesn't seem to change. On the profile page I'll click "Save changes" and it brings the same page up but without the avatar URL bit this time.

I can't see any of the nice neat buttons that are shown on the BBCode and smileys reference page.Ã,  I can add smileys by clicking them, but there are no buttons, I am sad, do I need a new cookie mabye???

That's just a generic SMF help page; the buttons are disabled here to conserve bandwidth.

This happened to me when i tried to set an avatar that was bigger than 60x60

Cj, this new forums allows people to post bitmaps! Dammit! I want the 'I'm with stupid' replacement back!

I have dial up and it sucks when people post bitmaps, cause they load hella slow!

It always annoys me when people post bitmaps when , if they would have bothered to pay close attention to the graphics on other people's sites , they'd probably finally "get it" by seeing that most people use .jpg or .gif ...sometimes there are are .png but the most accepted file extensions for graphics are .jpg and .gif  , even when I was crappy at making sites ( yes..there once was a time when I didn't put up copyright info about pics and such. ) , I knew that it's not ok to put bitmaps up .

Well , I was just stating that part to show that I didn't know back then that I should put up copyrights.
To a certain extent , yes , it does make a difference.
I didn't put copyrights about my stuff and I didn't put copyrights about others stuff , unfortunately there's alot of stupid people out there who assume that anything without copyright blurbs are public domain and therefore free to use for anything , because of my earlier stupidity about copyrights not only did I get in trouble a bit for doing stuff with other's graphics and not crediting people , but somebody stole a poem from me and when I emailed them about it they were like "well you should've made it clear that it belonged to you then!" . *sighs* Another unfortunate thing are the people that _do_ know about copyrights but choose to ignore them and stuff , like the way I used to be back when I was still learning things about the internet. 
So , yeah , and I had to learn the hard way.

Do you honestly think that makes any difference at all?

PNG's are a superior format for digital art, as it is a lossless format with similar compression levels. JPG's may be more accepted but the distortions can be terrible. I think GIF files weigh in heavier than both others, so I don't use them for anything but animations.

I can't change any of my profile settings. When I click the profile button my profile comes up. Then when I click any of the modify buttons on the left, I am told that "The user does not exist". Even when I try just looking at the profile of others, I get the message that the user does not exist

Just something silly, when, for instance, im leaving the critics lounge, and click on communnity in the tier part, it brings me to just the forums page, starting at the top, but i would prefer to have it bring me to the appropriate subforum, starting at community in this case.
I hope you understand.
