You want to encourage new people to use phrases like "Word up to ya mama"?

Evil

You want to encourage people?

One thing that I would like to see on these forums that I have seen on others, is having it so if you edit your post in say 5 mins after posting, to like fix a spelling mistake, it doesn't show the edited thing. I think it works well, and does make the posts seem nicer. I don't know how possible that is to implement tho, or if other people think its worthwhile.

Pumaman

It already does that - if you edit your post within 2 minutes and nobody has replied to it, it won't show the Last Edited thingy.

auhsor

You serious? Heh I didn't know that, cool.

Matt Brown

whats this little "posts leet" thing by my name? thats new
word up

auhsor

Um I don't see it now, but looking at your post count, I'm assuming it was cos you had 1337 posts. :P

That would make sense, seeing as at time of typing he has 1338 posts.

How cool. I imagine my 1337th post will be my last ever, so I can always stay like that.

dasjoe

the "think before you post" doesn't show up in popular threads at the quick reply field.
... it's quite easy being the best.

Pumaman

Considering that it seems to have no effect when it does appear, I don't know if there's much point fixing this one.

I only just noticed that this existed but I can't figure out how to enter the details.

In your profile there is now a "My Games" section, but there doesn't seem to be any way to enter the details. I thought it would be in your "forum profile information" section, but I can't see it, and I've looked a few times, maybe I'm just blind.

I noticed that some people have their games listed so there must be some way to do it.

Anyway, is this missing from the new forums or is there some trick to it?

there's probably a more recent thread to put this in but this is the one I found using the search feature.

I think CJ talked about it somewhere that it would automatically be updated if you had posted an entry in the game section using the same forum login account.

In other words, you can't change it manually.

Timosity

I had a play around with changing my information on the games page to match my profile but it doesn't seem to work that way.

also note this line "NOTE: don't use important passwords as the admin can see them"

I do have different information for that very reason, maybe it only works with recent entries?

Gilbert

Not sure about it, as I don't have use for that feature... yet. ;D

Anyway you may read the info from CJ's thread.

Darth Mandarb

When I edited the game entry for JP & Cosmo I was able to figure out how to list those involved in helping with the game.Ã,  However, I do have a suggestion.

When you view the game's pages it says who helped out with the game.Ã,  You have to enter the name the person is registered with; so for me it's, 'darth-mandarb'.Ã,  My username is displayed, 'Darth Mandarb'.Ã,  I would suggest that yes, you enter their name the way it's registered but the game's detail page uses whatever their current display name is instead.

Some people have completely changed their display names so it's not even similar to their registered name.

Since the forum trouble a few weeks back, the "always stay logged in" feature doesn't seem to work. Now I have to keep logging into the forums whenever I've been inactive for an hour or more.

Ishmael

For me it works perfectly...
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

Go to the Edit Game page, and fill in the box at the bottom of the page. There's fairly detailed instructions on what you need to do.

This is fine for me too. Make sure your browser isn't blocking the cookie -- IE6 seems to like doing that, have a fiddle with the privacy settings.
