A new game atempt

Rules: Winner of previus game posts a link to a crappy freeware paint program. We then use that program to make BG's. We have a time limit of about 1 week. Best BG wins.

I know its like BG Blits but this time we use unfamiler programs

Please! Please let this one work!

earlwood

Heh, sounds like a nifty idea, but then you run into the problem that theirs just not enough (freeware) paint programs to go around..

Gilbert

It sounds fun, but I doubt the possibility and people's interests to keep this running continuously.

=The=Brat=

c'mon we could start with something like pixia. Everyone likes Pixia! and who said it has to last, i just want to try!  :D

Babar

everyone may LIKE pixia, but everyone does not HAVE it. It would be silly to download an entire new gfx program everytime, just to make 1 background

hmmmm, ur right. maybe i could stretch it to ALL freeware programs like icon makers but the problem would still occur. any ideas?

Scummbuddy

we have the mspaint game.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

I personally wouldn't download new software just for a drawing competition.

Mr Flibble

Spare a thought for the dial uppers.

And the fact thats theres about 6 freeware graphics programs.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

Ozwalled

Just make something with http://artpad.art.com/
All you need for it is an updated Flash player or whatever. Sure it's crappy and sure it takes a little while to download people's pictures (though not TOO long), but it's kinda' nifty nevertheless. It is pretty clunky on older computers, though.

Here's an example of what I did while I was bored: http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?igbxqnmnqz4

=The=Brat=

i use artpad all the time

why didnt i think of that

Ubel

I like this idea but I doubt it would work. I wouldn't download a new program for each competition. Also every time the participants download a new program they would have to learn to use it and all. Good idea but hard to carry out.

Is there already a photography comp?

Gilbert

Not even the download part, if the programme needs installation, it's even more annoying.

What's the problem and the connection with the Photoshop competition?

Anyway, as one of the competition forum's moderators, I'll say 'no' to this contest. This is just my opinion, don't know if others will agree though.

=The=Brat=

they will all say no anyway

i meant is there a full photagrophy comp without using a programme, just palin photography. Im saying this because i dont want to make another topic just to ask if there is one.

:) ok, so will the 'freeware fonanza' go ahead  (Drum Roll)

*brat sits down and awaits moderators votes

Gilbert

As far as I know there's no regular photography event, I doubt if it is really that demanding to be a regular event though.

Babar

Moderators aren't the only ones who will be playing. Besides, no need to treat mod's like some god-like creatures. They aren't.

I say no. I would really only think a competition would be viable if it was VERY different from those currently being held. Brat, it's not necessary that you HAVE to create a competition, just let 'em be.

Well said, I to (as a regular member) will say no. Although I have ADSL I won't be bothard with the downloading and as Gilbot said installation of the programs. Good try though  ;)

=The=Brat=

moderators , gods!...no no no. you have it all wrong. I SPIT ON MODERATORS! and i know i dont HAVE to create a competition but i would LIKE to.

No more votes needed. The competition idea was a bad idea. THE END  ;D
