CROS

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that we're holding another contest! If you don't already, you should know that it's possibly the most fun you could have as a game creator. Or, maybe not. It's hard to know.

Anyways, we'll be getting together (through the power of the interwebs) to make games, livestream development, chat it up, meet people, and hang out.

It'll start on November 9, 2013 at midnight Eastern Time EST (US) and end at midnight Eastern Time on November 18, 2013. The theme will be announced at the start of the contest.

We'd love to get some adventure games in on the fun as well! I feel like I don't see a lot of them in jams and contests.

We've got a huge prize pack as well for the top three entries! Here's a little teaser of all the games you can win:

Check out the contest page for more info on it. Hope to see you there! Feel free to ask questions anywhere. I'll try to answer them.

Hey CROS! Yeah, just got my newsletter this morning. Yeah, contests are quite an exhilirating experience, I completed my first just last month -- and this little thing really got the creative juices flowing (blood, sweat and most of all, tears from my tired eyes). One question, though: is it going to be a genre-specific game, like a platformer, top-down shooter -- or something with just a very basic theme? Both are of course perfectly feasible within AGS, but as always, getting out of one's comfort zone (i.e. adventure games) might require some extra time to figure out and learn stuff.

CROS

Hey Fitz!

Since Game Jolt supports many different genres, creation tools, and technologies, we always try to keep the themes loose enough so that it's just a base for creativity to build on top of. So, definitely no genre-specific stuff. And I'd really love to see more adventure games submitted this contest! I'm definitely a fan of 'em, having grown up playing them, and don't feel like I see enough in jams and contests. Glad to see you'll be participating. And hopefully more people will. =]

Fitz

I'm not sure yet if I can make it, due to other commitments (a big translation job that I'm expecting, might be next week, might be next month, though), plus my girlfriend will not be very happy to see me in my turbo mode (sitting at the puter late into the night, completely in the zone) :P AND I'm still regaining full vision after making Monty. But I'm thinking about it!

CROS

Hahaha, I understand. I've been working really hard lately and my girlfriend's not having fun with it. =\ Well, hopefully things work out!
