::hopes no one walks in on him right now::

That was insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was excited about the first Killzone, but that second one makes me want to run toward the neares living thing and kill it. I have never sen such a beautiful or realistic game. and Motor Storm looks so realistic I can't believe that was all in-game! I really like the idea of not having a GUI, and it seems that is a new thing alot of people are doing. four years ago, when they announced the call of Cthulhu game (it STILL hasn't been released!!!) they said they were going to come out with a non-GUI system where you had to actually lokin your pockets to see what you had, look in the chamber of your gun to see how many bullets you have left, and look at your body to see how badly injured you are.

I also like the idea with Condemned... It looks AWESOME that you can interact with any objet in the world and use it to bash someone's head in... That looks keen!!!!

I just watched the Tokyo Game Show this morning, and my good left buttock, was it exciting!!! I have never ever liked Metal Gear since snake's Revenge, where I got so aggravated with one part that I punched a hole in my wall (I then proceeded to lay with my head in the hole and call my mother for help, telling her I fell off the top bunk...) but Metal Gear Solid 4 looks lke it'll be the best thing ever!

It should be pointed out that all of the PS3 demos shown at e3 (which these are) were largely pre rendered concept videos, meant to indicate the graphical quality... but there is a lot of stuff in them you can expect to be done less well in engine.Ã,  Scale back the graphics slightly, and get rid of a lot of the choreography and cinematics and you might have an idea of what it'll be like in game.Ã,  (The PS3 will contain, according to nvidia, a slightly more powerful version of the current top of the line Geforce 7800 gpu, for reference.)

Of those games Killzone 2 seems quite fun... nothing revolutionary gameplay wise, seems like Call of Duty if it was in the Unreal universe, but it /looks/ nice, so I'd give it a play through.Ã,  Motor Storm also seems like it'd be a bit of fun.

Far from being impressed by the next gen console games, I'm pretty disappointed at how generic they seem... they are all basically prettier rehashes of current console games.Ã,  Perhaps that'll change when more gameplay info comes to light.

Minimi

woot! By seeing this, I might even actually start playing games again! Motor Storm looks very cool to me, exactly the kinda game I would like to play! :) Get those cars total loss!  :=

Eh... but you have to remember, technology is constantly getting better. Just wait and see...

Redwall

Eh... but you have to remember, the PS3 has to be finalized pretty soon if they're going to have a chance at launching it next spring.

In other words, what they have now is basically what it's going to have.

Are all these games ps3 only? Not planning to buy one so it would be nice if they came for PC too :(

I remember seeing the Killzone 2 trailer and it scared me just how advanced things are getting! It looks totally awesome, 2006 will be a very interesting year - but the level of immersion is getting more and more intense and I don't necessarily see that as a good thing :P I'm confuzzled as to whether in-game graphics and gameplay will be like the Killzone 2 trailer on PS3+ consoles - but if that is the case (and im sure one day it will be) - I hope this technology develops further into adventure, sim & sport games rather than just FPS, but hey, guess we'll see it everywhere :)

Yeah, those E3 trailers were awesome. I saw them a few months ago. It's amazing what they can do with the next-gen graphics. There was a trailer of an FPS too, where you could see huge marble statues crumble as you shot them.

-tries to think of the game's name-

Something with Kill- in it...then again, what hasn't?

-looks for trailer-

KILLING DAY! Yes, that was it. Not thát hi-q, but if they can make that gameplay work...

however M0ds does have a point...

Bah. I say: if they're that good then ppl will convert them into roms anyway. Don't much care otherwise.

Kinoko

I only watched the Killzone trailer to see what people were talking about. At first, I was really impressed, it looks amazing! Then I thought, as I watched the scenes of killing and carnage... I don't want to play a game like that. I felt like I was watching a really depressing war movie. I don't want to kill -people- when I play a game, I want to kill NPCs. I like the occasional FPS but I want to be shooting with a super ridiculous gun and killing babes in tight leather, or fiery floaty monsters, or cute bunnies or something.

What I -am- looking forward to after seeing the trailer today is the new Warcraft game.

Haddas

I can only focus on one thing right now. All these 2k6 games fade away. and that is the fact that Black and WHite 2 is FINALLY getting released. TOMORROW!!! OMGOMGOMG *preorders*

I don't want to play a game like that.

Then you're in luck!  Because there is no game like that.  That trailer, and all of these others, were rendered over several hours on a high-end computer (possibly several of them) and NOT on the PS3/XBOX360 hardware.  The game that comes out will not look like that.  It'll still look good, better than the games of this generation, but not THAT good.

I really don't care.

If I may be a complete pretentious ass for a few minutes, I will launch into the same rant that countless other pretentious ass gamers are spewing out around the internet to try and look cool.  I will, of course, deliver this same rant while pretending that I'm completely original, counter-culture, and better than all of you.  Ready? Good.

As I've stated before on this forum, games hardly interest me anymore.  I feel that I've done everything.  I've killed zombies, flown through space, been in wars (several of them, many fictional), saved civilizations, etc.  The gameplay is not interesting anymore.  It's all the same stuff with new graphical bells and whistles.

Everyonce and a while something comes along that's exciting (most recently Katamari Damacy) and I'll suddenly be into games (well... at least one of them) again.  That's why I'm totally looking forward to the Revolution.  I want to play interesting new types of games and I want to play them with my wife.  Graphics are not really an issue.  Fun.  That's the issue.

Now, don't you all feel belittled?

Kinoko

I feel like I just got SERVED.

Or OWN3D!

Nikolas

Just wathced Killzone 2 and Vision Grand Turismo!

Well both of these fooled me into thinking I was watching a movie.

Actually I'm not sure about Killzone, I still think it was a movie trailer and not a game trailer. But Grand Turismo, was about a game. I'm pretty sure.

Now, as I see it, I won't buy any of the two. They just don't appeal to me anymore. I don't think that there's anything interesting in both of these games...

I don't know, really...

Again, I feel so old and tired... :(

You could say exactly the same thing about any entertainment - books, films, music, art, tv, comics, what have you. Read that before, heard that before, seen that before. If it's well done, it'll entertain.

Ummm, no?
There seems to be a fascination with convincing people that they shouldn't enjoy what they've been enjoying. Firefly is bad. Harry Potter is bad. Racing games are bad. These statements are not going to make a blind bit of difference.
