Mouth for war

Zelda, Super mario, Resident Evil. The list for the most popular games can go on and on. I was wondering what games you think deserves more credit ? One of my favorite games that didn't seem to sell so much was Bully aka. Canis canem edit. A wonderful little game from the creators of the GTA franchise. Going to school has never been so much fun. I liked this game a lot more than the GTA games. The characters had more personality and you felt more for them than the average man on the streets in GTA. I'd love if they made a sequel but I guess we can forget about it unfortunately. So...do you know any nice games the world should pay more attention to? :D
mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer

Beyond Good And Evil.
Stylish, charismatic oddball of a game. Glued me to the screen. Got attention far too late, which resulted in a late, and not at all sure-to-be-made, sequel-in-the-plannings...

Ghost Master.
Ghost Sim meets RPG meet RTS meets ectoplasma on the run, with cool mission titles and lots of tongue in cheek genre stuff. Never took off.

Spellforce (the original one, not the streamlined sequel).
Not even very sucessful in germany, and everyone knows we dig these kinds of games.

Jedi Knight 3.
Well, when I came to the stores three month after the release, it was already out of the shelves, and hasn't returned yet, not even low budget, despite good press. And we do SO need more games where you can play as a Twi'lek.

And, indeed, The Last Express.
Just for the flair of it.

Duke Nukem Forever
I sense that there hasn't been attention being brought to it for the past three minutes! That's really not enough!

Urban Chaos, the one made by Mucky Foot, is a pretty awesome game.

Two Worlds, a pretty good action RPG which is unfairly compared to Oblivion and thought by most people that do compare it to be the weaker of the two or just crap.

I agree with everything Boyd just said.

Flying Tigers
A simple scrolling arcade, but yet highly addictive. Plus, it's got co-op.

Starsiege: Tribes
Multiplayer shooter... with jetpacks!

Hateful Chris
A game with ideology of Postal, but somehow, better, possibly, due to cartoony looks.

Donald Duck: Quack Attack
Simple and childish-looking, but still made me clean it over 7 times.

Nosferatu: The wrath of malachi
One of the few games that actually got me frightened a couple of times.

Startopia
Economic sim with attitude.

The Guild series
An economic strategy from the first look, a deep combination of many genres from the second.

Thief I & II

Seconded. One of the best series ever, but often hated and unpopular. One of the proofs, that quality isn't necessary binded with popularity and success.

I absolutely agree, I couldn't agree more. This was the game I wanted to add to this thread so I don't have much else to say at this point. I'll also second Quack Attack because it's a surprisingly solid kid's platformer.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

I just purchased Two Worlds from newegg.com and will have it in a few days. I played the demo on the 360 and it seems okay. I still prefer Oblivion, but getting a new 360 game for 12.00 dollars (USA) is a good deal in my book.

So I am sure I will enjoy it.

I also agree with Boyd.  Two Worlds is a much stronger game in both the gameplay and value department than Oblivion was, and I never found myself feeling gipped by the play length or the ending.  It also beats virtually every rpg I've played hands down for the sheer amount of equipment and equipment tweaks available, which is great if you like finding lots of neat suits of armor and weapons and making them catch fire or freeze (which I do).

Also:  Gigolo Assassin.

LimpingFish

Urban Chaos is indeed a fine game.

Nosferatu: Wrath of Malachi

I always thought I was the only person who had played that!  :P  Terribly broken game, but it was cheap and I wasn't expecting much, so it was surprisingly fun.

Other FPS games that people haven't seem to have played much, but which entertained me, were Chrome, You are Empty, and Project: Snowblind. Not great games by any stretch of the imagination, but agreeable all the same.

SWAT 4 is an excellent game that nobody really mentions anymore.

Well, I forgot to mention a game that deserved more credit. Disaster Report for the Playstation 2. Not a perfect game, but really enjoyable once you start playing.

I played through this game two times and always found it amazing. The Frame Rate sucks, but the atmosphere alone is just amazing.

It has a sequel called Raw Danger, which I didn't like as much as DR.

I don't want to spoil anything, but check the game out for yourself. You can probably find it real cheap. I bought it for 20 dollars (USA) about 5 years ago.

Damn, now I want to play it again.  :)

Stee

The one thing that threw me off two worlds was the horse riding was awful to control. Which is frustrating enough at the start of a game to stop playing it. Although if it is the game I think it is it had an interesting plot. Something to do with medieval portals right?

Urban Chaos is an excellent game, and indeed an underrated (almost unknown I guess) hidden gem.

Duke Nukem Forever doesn't need more credit. Its been "in development" for so long, its no surprise it got killed off. Only the hardcore fans remain, and the ones still naive enough to believe it was ever going to come out in the first place. If you fucked around in a game studio for as long as they did, and were still getting paid by your publisher for 12 (I think it was 12) years, then I would shake your hand, as you've acheived the dream job. Lots of money, little work.

Im not blaming anyone specifically for DNF, but lets face it, someone, somewhere in that chain of people fucked up big time, and the only surprise is that it lasted as long as it did. The series had been quiet for so long the sales figures would've paled in comparison to the previous games.

And for conspiracy theorists.... DNF = Did Not Finish  :D

The Witcher, one of the best RPGs out there. The story for that game was excellent. An example of a company that actually puts effort into their games.

Wadjeteyegames - aka Blackwell series,Emerald City, Shivah. Theres a guy I have a lot of respect for. Cheers Dave.

Still Life - Just started playing a few days ago. I loved it... until that robot puzzle with the lasers started to piss me off. If anyone wants to provide me with a save past that point feel free.  ;)

Unfortunately, I don't play many games anymore. I'd love to say its because I don't have the time (I dont actually and shouldnt be playing some of them lol), but the truth is... who can name a truly good game out there now. They are all so repetitive.

I enjoyed Yakuza on the ps2 if anyone ever played that.

PS:
Saints Row 2 was better than GTAIV
Wheelman was too short.
Godfather 2 was too short.
Im still playing velvet assassin (sort of).

<Babar> do me, do me, do me! :D
<ProgZMax> I got an idea - I reached in my pocket and pulled out my Galen. <timofonic2> Maybe I'm a bit gay, enough for do multitask and being romantical

Wonkyth

The only one of the above that I've played is SpellForce, and having played it through twice have decided that while its graphics weren't bad, the gameplay was just army-building.

Rise of Nations like all RTS's, I suck at this game, but enjoyed it nonetheless. Great gameplay, although sometimes it dragged on.

Dark Messiah had an AWSMOE combat system, if a little lacking in spell variety. this game might have got lots of credit, but if it did, I didn't hear about it.

Wow, and I thought it was obvious that I meant that as a joke. I shall use more smileys in future posts.
