Title: Garry's Mod
Post by: LGM on Sun 09/01/2005 16:47:17
http://www.garry.tv/garrysmod

If anyone here owns Half Life 2, and you're not aware of this mod, download it now and have hours of fun.

It allows you to pose figures with the awesome ragdoll physics, and you can even build stuff with a welding tool.. Or attach ropes to things or even make cars!! It's awesome.

Check out what I made last night:

That thing eats my computer alive. I don't know why. HL2 loads quicker than it.

Heh, i love the mod. Attach rockets to the back of a sofa and make a plane... then crash it into the skybox :P

Flippy: That's the problem with all mods. Just wait a little longer and it shall load. Your system is faster than mine.

Somebody mentioned Edward Norton in a post here somewhere...

QuoteSomebody mentioned Edward Norton in a post here somewhere...

"I wanted to destroy something beautiful."

EDIT: Whoops! Wrong movie. Thought it was Fight Club at first... Now realise that it's American History X... I had completely forgotten that Edward Norton was in that movie, just because he's such a good actor, and so different in that movie, that it's hard sometimes to tell it's him.

Played version 5 yet guys?

Lots of nice extras, like a gui to spawn whatever model you want.

I laughed so hard when i put a rocket on G-Man and watched him fly away.

I read it, LGM. I'd say I know most of what you wrote as common sense already, heh. It's a nice guide though, but judging from the people posting on that forum, I cant help but feel it's sort of... wasted on them.

I wasn't aware of the sv_noclipspeed variable. That should come in handy.

Also, I'm having too much fun with simple things:

I've been having some fun with balloons.

I'm gonna try to add some rockets and make it steerable.

This reminds me a lot of The Incredible Machine, only in 3D, which is ALWAYS a good thing...the physics in Half Life 2 are impressive in-game anyway, but they're a lot more lovable when they're open to experimentation. I feel like a kid in a science classroom...with rockets....

Hey Ghormak. Yes.. I find them as common sense too.. But obviously a lot of those people there don't.

and Spooner.. GO DIE! :-p
