Doesn't it say which version of DirectX you need? Download the latest version. The versions that other games install may not be the latest. Or you could go to the website of the developer of the program and the version of DirectX needed must be told there.
If that doesn't work... well... I dunno. :P

DirectX has updates all the time, so keep them up to date too. And if that doesnt work, try uninstalling it then redownload it. That seemed to work for me.

Euhm, it's not that you didn't install directx, but it could be one of the following things.

1. You are running a windows edition that is not completely compatible with directx. Wich are you using? The emulator might not work on Win NT or 2000

2. Your graphics card settings are wrong

3. Directx settings are wrong, change them by starting up the dxdiag.exe if i remember correctly. That file should be somewhere in C:\Windows\System\

4. You have a virus on your pc, maybe adware, that is changing some information on files on your pc, and in the directx data, so that the emulator can't read the files correct.

I hope any of these points might solve your problem!
