For those interested, the Premier League season kicks off in just a few days.
Goalscorer Challenge is kind of a mini, no-hassle version of Fantasy Football but, instead of choosing a whole team for the season and worrying about budget and transfers, here you simply select one player each Gameweek and how ever many goals he scores are added to your points total. Easy.
The only catch is you can only ever select any player once.
If you like how that sounds go here and sign up:
http://goalscorerchallenge.co.uk/
Once you've registered, had a look around and decided you want to have a go, then join the mini league I have created, The Big Blue Cup:
http://goalscorerchallenge.co.uk/minileagues
And type this password into the 'Join An Existing Minileague' field.

Hope to see a few of you there :-)

Might give this a go. Don't really have the time for a full fantasy league anymore so this could be a nice alternative.
Thanks for signing up, Matt.
Anyone else interested?
Sounds fun, I'm in!
Well done, Intense Degree. That makes three of us at least. I'd call that a league. Just a day and a bit left if any one else want in. But I'm sure people can join later without losing many points. I envisaged this game being quite low-scoring anyway.
Make that four! Only just saw this. Backing Rudy Gestede to get off to a flier for the Villains against the Cherries! >:(
(Hmm... Villains vs Cherries... should be a game title.)
I signed up. I know nothing about football though. Do the global picks count as picks for our private league? Never saw an indication that they didn't.
Nice one Captain D and Gurok.
Cap'n has previously played in the Premiership as a goalkeeper, but this is about scoring, not saving, so it shouldn't put him at too much if an advantage. :P
Yeah, the mini league is just a subset of the main league. No need to do any extra work :-)
Rudy got me off to a flying start from the bench! :cheesy:
Won't use either my insider knowledge or ponytail to win this unfairly though (man that ponytail was a mistake...(laugh))
It looks like CaptainD and Gurok are in joint 1st, Matt and I both squandered our first pick on the wrong Liverpool player.
@Intense Degree, you don't seem to have picked anyone. Are you still in, yeah?
@Everyone, it's not too late to join in. It would be nice to have a few more people to make it a bit more exciting.

I can't believe it - I actually don't have Couts in my FPL team! Duh... (Still, Hendo and Clyne scored me some decent points, pity I had Courtois in goal!!)
Anyway, for the next one I'm hoping Benteke opens his league account for my beloved LFC... really don't know if his signing is going to work out but sure hope so.
I'm plumping for Defoe to get another one this week.
Next up will be the first time ever I've wanted Rooney to score in a Man Utd shirt!! 8-0
I've been a rather fortunate with my 2 goals - Rudy off the bench and Benteke with a contested goal for Couts' possible offside. Still, they all count I guess!
What's anyone else picked for Game 3?
Yeah lots of people got lucky with Benteke. (nod) This week I'm putting my chips on Diouf for Stoke.

Are you just choosing every player you can find whose surname begins with D?!?

I think it was just because Diouf put the ball in the net area for Stoke last week. I also don't know if that works -- if a good goalscorer one week is good the next.

partly that, and he also scored a few last season. Plus they are playing a beatable Norwich side. We'll see. I can't pretend I really know what I'm talking about but I can try. Hehe.
Painful as a Liverpool fan but I've gone for Raheem Sterling to score this week. Who are your picks?
As usual, I have no idea, but I picked Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace because he looked like he'd scored a lot of goals. Crystal Palace because it was a funny sounding name for a football team.
Still haven't chosen this week. My attempt at working out decent players doesn't seem to be paying off yet D:

:grin::grin::grin: Gotta love your reasoning. Would absolutely love Zaha to score a handful against Chelski though!
I've gone for Pedro for Chelsea. Still has a D in his name, so...
Mixed feelings... yay Sterling scored, boo he left us and mega boo we lost three nil at home to the Hammers! :~(
Have you all chosen your international scorers for the weekend? If you haven't the deadline is very soon!
I've chosen David Silva. He still plays for Spain right? I hope so...
Whoever my pick was failed to score any points!
Gone for Aguera this week... what about anyone else?
Willian for Chelsea. I forgot to play last week. Booo.
Hat-trick for Aguero! :-D
YES! What a week to pick Aguero! :-D

You too? Awesome!
I'm actually joint second in the overall standings. 8-0:-D
Damn. And I came here to brag about my point for Willian.
Good show chaps.
Willain was a good shout too!
No-one saw Aguera's five goals coming, even against Newcastle...
Dayum Dave. You got skillz. Joint 2nd overall.

Totally unexpected! ;-D Aguera getting a five goal haul the week I picked him was a one in a million chance.
Picked Bony this week, Man City vs Bournmouth seemed pretty much a cert. But you really never know what's going to happen in the Prem these days. I'll probably be bottom of the league by the time the season ends. 8-)
I know that there is such a huge element of luck to this, but now I'm closing the gap on Dave I'm starting to think it must be skill after all! ;)
I forgot to play last week, and then Harry Kane goes and gets a hat-trick after I've wasted my previous week's turn on him. :-/
I've gone for Pelle this week... with a name like that he has to be good, right? :-D
It worked for Ronaldo :-)
He shoots, he scores! Pelle!
Tekkers gets one for Michael and the super in-form James Vardy scored for Matt.
I'm on a 3-match barren run atm, hoping for Lukaku to grab a couple this weekend. Anyone else picked yet?
Lukaku bagged me one last week, this week maybe I'm crazy but I'm picking Studge. Which means he'll probably be injured again or Klopp will rest him. (roll)
Damnit. I've missed the deadline by less than 10 minutes.
Stupid Ikea
I picked Sturridge also. Cue double ankle break on sunday morning.

NAh... he's already done in his hamstring, will be out (yet again!) for several weeks.
Time for Benteke or Origi to shine! (Can't pick them though, already did in previous weeks, Tekkers got me a goal but Divock got nada.) Had a sinking feeling we were going to be pants against Newcastle, everyone was talking up our chances which always worries me.
I'm backing Giroud to continue his fine European form into the Prem this week. (So he'll probably do nowt!)
