Wow!  :o  I got the call today!   
I'm so excited, and the AGS community is like an "old friend" now, so I felt I needed to share with you guys (even if it's not in the same league as a "growth-spurt" topic  ;)
   But I just found out: It looks like I'm going to be in a movie with Jackie Chan! YAY!!!   :D
I don't know all the details yet, but, they were quite impressed with me last week when they were auditioning me and filmed me in action performing some Martial-Arts.  They were surprised at how skillful and fast I could move for being such a big-guy, and said comments like "You move just like Samo Hung" (Samo being a large Chinese Kung-Fu actor that has appeared in many films with Jackie Chan).
 
    Anyways, my scenes for the upcoming movie-in-production will start in a couple weeks from now (around mid-December).  As far as I know I'm supposed to be a "Body-Guard" character in the movie, and I might end up in a fight scene with Jackie Chan himself (not sure yet)... I'll find out more details about it soon. 

   This is like a dream come true for me. I've been a fan of Jackie Chan and enjoyed watching his movies since I was a kid, and now it looks like I'm going to be in a movie with him! Man, this is Awesome!  ;D

Hehe I think you don't need to explain much about Samo Hung here, he's quite well know to the west already, as in Martial Law (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0163949/), a western TV show which was aimed mainly for the west, and was a total failure here (you know, here := ).

Jackie is really nice when meeting new people.  And I doubt it may have to do with Rush Hour 3, as it has now just gotten into script stages. Barely anything has been written about it, but hey, congrats!

Hey everyone.. thanks so much for all the kind words of support, I really appreciate it.
I still don't have much details yet of what exactly I'll be doing in the movie, but it was suggested it might be somewhat of a chase (running after JC) and/or fight scene with JC. Ã, But, I guess it's not fully decided yet how they might use me. The main thing I was told is they want to use me for a "Body-Guard" type of character, but depending on the schedule of shooting and/or other details and circumstances will then determine how much I'm involved and to what extent, which is not set yet.

No, it's not "Rush Hour 3", it's another production which will be made by Jackie Chan's own film company here in Hong Kong. Ã, Briefly from the little bit of information that I am aware of at this point, the name of the movie will be "Baby". And from what I gather, the idea is that Jackie Chan and a couple of his friends somehow accidentially or mistakenly end up with some baby (I think for the movie they are to be something like professional thieves who break in and rob rich places)... anyways, I guess they somehow end up "stealing" the baby unknowingly somehow and don't discover this untill later. Ã, So, since they robbed so many places, they are not sure which place they got the baby from, so they don't know where to return it... And as they are all thieves, they don't want to go to the police for fear of going to prison for "robbery and kidnapping". So they decide on keeping the baby and raising it as their own.

Ã,  So, sort of think of it something like "Three Kung-Fu Men and a Baby" type of scenario I guess. I might have got my information wrong, but, that's the basic jist of the story outline that I understood it to be, but I may be wrong. Ã, 

Ã,  I'll be doing about 4 or 5 days worth of work in the movie (actually for my scene I guess it's going to be a night-time scene). Ã, I'm going to try to do my best in hopes it may lead to some good future oppertunities for me as well.

I'll try and get some pictures taken and autographs from Jackie if I can.

I never watched Samo Hung in martial Law, but in fact a lot of the films when he was starring with jackie, or on his ownsome perhaps... long time ago.

I'm so energized the last couple of days about this exciting news in my life. Ã, It's hard to believe I'm really gonna be in a movie with Jackie Chan the man himself. Ã, ;D Ã,

Edmundo: Yeah, I been into the Martial-Arts scene for over 23 years now, and am fairly high-ranked. Ã, The last few years I been in Asia training with some of the Martial-Arts Masters here, and I recently got a book published and selling in the book stores here (it's a Martial Arts instructional book) so I can now officially say that I'm now a "Published Book Author" too. Ã, :D Ã,  And recently, I've been invited and accepted to become a member of the Hong Kong Martial Arts Association (which is a rare honor for a "big white foreigner" like me, as probably about 99% of all the HKMAA members here are Chinese or Asian). And also recently, I've opened up my own Martial Arts school here in Hong Kong (which is also a rare thing for a "foreigner" to do here too).
Ã,  Ã, I do hope to have the chance to get to a "Mittens" someday, and I'd be quite happy to show a "few moves" or even do a bit of impromtu training with some of the AGS guys 'n gals. And, don't worry, even though I may seem like a "big tuff guy", I'm a friendly and gentle person by nature.

Steve: Well, the movie guys were impressed and surprised with me... and, I guess when they showed Jackie Chan my filmed audition, he liked me too and decided to use me. Wow! Amazing. Ã, Well, being in the "outtakes reel" would be a cool thing actually as sometimes that's one of the best parts to watch.. but I would just hope that if I did end up in an outtake reel, that it wouldn't be "too stupid" of a mistake.

And thank you for the offer of the book, we'll find a way to sort out the hows, although I'm sure that almost nothing can get me to stand up and excersize now...  :( The only thing I use to do is cycle (I've done more than 70 km per day when I was a little younger). But here in London, my bike was stolen and I didn't bother to get a new one, yet. I will though. (<-Sorry for the off-topic).

Nikolas:Ã,  Yeah, I'm 6ft tall, and currently around 280 lbs, so I guess you could say I'm "big". But, I exercise several hours most days, so even though I'm big, I still stay fairly fit.Ã,  I guess that could perhaps be one of the reasons JC wants to use me in his movie because I'm so big, as compared to most people here in Asia, I'm a giant, so it would look impressive to have a really big guy as a "body guard" in a scene with him I guess.
Regarding the book: Actually, it's about Tai Chi Chuan, so it's a more "slower / relaxing" form of Martial Arts, so not too strenuous, ya might enjoy it.

Hi guys.
I meant to give an update on this sooner.

Anyways, I sadly inform you that my role in the movie has so far been either delayed or cancelled.

Up untill the day that I was supposed to show up to start the shooting for my scenes I thought everything was still okay and still on. Then I got a call from the movie guys that day to tell me that the schedule was changed, and that they would call me back after a few days to let me know the new schedule for me.

After a few days of not hearing back anything from them, I began to get a bit worried, so I called them back to see what was going on.Ã,  Then they tell me that some changes had been made to the script and that they might not need me anymoreÃ,  :'(

Ã,  Ã, They are still currently making the movie, and when last talking with them they said that they might still use me, and if so they would call me back, or that if not for this current movie project, then perhaps they can use me for some future movie project.

Ã,  Ã, Well, it's already a couple weeks past when I was supposed to be working on this current movie they're making, and sadly I've not gotten any calls back from them.Ã,  So, as each day passes without hearing from them, I'm thinking more and more they now won't use me in this movie.

Ã,  Ã, It's a big dissapointment for me, and especially after telling all my family and friends about it (which I wouldn't have told anyone unless I was fairly sure that I had the role in the movie, and at the time I was 99% sure I had the part). And I feel I missed out on a great oppertunity now. But, I guess that's the movie biz for ya!Ã,  Always changing schedule, scenes, script, actors, etc... And as I'm an "unknown", I guess I'm not so important to their project right now.Ã,  Oh well, who knows, a miracle still might happen, and I still might get "the call" (hoping).Ã, 

But for now, I think I have to let the dream slip away and focus on reality again (and also get back to working more on my current Game-in-Production as well tooÃ,  :) ).Ã,  Still, I was really so excited about the whole thing for a while there, and, heck, I was kinda depressed for the last couple of weeks about losing my part in the movie.Ã,  Ã, But, I'm okay now.

If anything more happens in regards to this, I'll let you guys know. But for now, I think it's a no-go for me in this movie.Ã,  Now excuse me while I go find Jackie Chan and beat him up ummm, I mean have a nice word with him about this situation. Heheh, just joking.
