Goodbye. (Does anyone care?)

Hello (or should I say goodbye?)
There comes a time in every man's life when he feels grown out of his crib.
AGS was my crib ever since I first joined, but now I decided to leave.
Thanks to AGS and mostly Chris Jones for gotten me to this point in life when I feel grown up and ready to move on.

My reasons for leaving are so many, but most of all it's because I'm not really active here anymore.
I just log in, browse through some post, and sign out. Without even replying any threads. Maybe I feel afraid to say my opinion. Maybe I feel I don't fit in here anymore. Maybe it's just because I... Um, yes - it's that thing that I don't fit in here anymore.

My plans are first of all Roger Foodbelly. Yes, we will at least try to finish it.
We're going to make a demo, and show it to various publishers first, though.
I might drop by and show you a really, really small preview (backgrounds etc.).
Maybe even a demo for the public!

I will still be making freeware games with AGS, though, so I won't leave completely.
We're having a freeware game in production, but need more staff members.
If anyone volunteer to help, it would be great.

Roger Foodbelly and the freeware game will not be released from the same company, though.
Hope that won't cause any problems.

Anyway, I know I won't get much replies in this thread (I know. I haven't gotten a lot of response in the other threads, so...), but this is my way of saying goodbye. The reasons for not replying can be so many, but I'll try to list someone here.

You:
a) have been offended by me when I didn't mean to
b) have gotten amnesia, and forgot about me
c) have just joined
d) are still mad at me since I haven't replied to the posts
e) have recieved a misleading PM
f) ..or you just simply hate me, because of my old behaviour.
g) dislike my previous games (I understand. I do too.)

I understand. I also leave because of reason f and g.
I'm ashamed by my old behaviour (and my previous games). But I was young and immature.
I apologize if you've ever felt offended by me.


I wonder if there's a delete membership button somewhere...
Or maybe I should not, just in case I decide to come back after a few weeks/ months/ years/ decades/millenniums.

I wish you all of good luck, and I hope I sometime in the distant future can play all those great AGS games.

Again, I want to give most of the credit to Chris Jones,
and everyone else (and Chris); Thank you for having me.
It's been a lot of good years.


One word: Keep on working on AGS! It's the greatest.

Janner, it's so sad to hear you're leaving. Maybe I'm just speaking for myself here, but you've been here since the beginning of time (AGS time that is), and I've sort of "looked up" to you. I've never noticed you saying anything offencive and I've never seen someone angry at you. But I understand where you're comming from. Gonna miss you.

I've never talked to you much, but I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving.

You shouldn't be afraid to post your opinion, because no matter what you say, there's always going to be a nay-sayer in the crowd who's going to try and tell you you're wrong.  And if you offend them with something you say, what are they going to do?  Piss and moan about it?  Photoshop your face onto a picture of a monkey's ass and post it?  It's all about the spoken word here.  Sticks and stones, my friend.

As for being immature; I really wouldn't worry about it.  We all have our childish streaks.

Lastly; (IMO) you really don't need to try and fit in here... half these people on here you may never even meet in your lifetime, and the majority of them are one the other side of the planet from you.  Sometimes this forum does feel a little bit like high school (either you're part of the in-crowd, or you're the sad, lonely sucker who sits by himself at lunch), but really... so what?  (...and I'm not calling you a computer geek, or anything...) But if you want acceptance, turn off the computer and go out to a party or something with your real friends.

Anyway, if you're going, take care.  Stop in and say "Hello" sometime.

Jannar, we've spoken on a number of occasions, but it has been awhile.

I even posted questioning where you, subspark and trapezoid are, i believe, over in the "where are all the old members" thread. the subject line is all in caps, i believe.

anyways, im sad to see you go, but cant wait for your triumpant return. we never had bad beef between us, i also didnt know you had bad beef with anyone else. bad beef is just no good.

I also miss your old avatar. that guy will never finish with his computer. he just keeps going. well, not anymore.  on second thought, you should be like your old avatar. just keep on going. stick around. we'll be pals.
