I downloaded that Google Earth and its soo cool,
I found My House
My Friends House
Your House
The statue of liberty
The egyption sphyinx
and Area 51
... However It couldnt find Atlantis .
Looking at the otherside of the earth theres a whole area of sea with nothing but water, I never really realised this ( i havent seen a globe for years and the flat world map doesnt show how big this area is)
So I have my own conspiracy theory, there is a continent there! , its just been removed from all maps,  flight paths , shipping paths and satillite photos..... either that or its just under the water .... maybe it sank?

Death does not affect me : It's just a minor inconvenience

LGM

Or there are just no active magma pockets in that area..

But nice theory.

And, I bet he hadn't even checked out the AGS map.

i just downloaded Google Earth, and let me say it's AWESOME!! Haven't found my house yet (i live in australia see, it's not as simple as if you were in the US, Uk etc.)
but i have found the Eiffel Tower, The Great Pyramids, the Statue of Liberty, the 2000 Olympic Games Venue, the Sydney Opera House, the White House and some other cool places. Awesome!!

I can see my new place quite clearly, and I can see my car parked at my old house too

To me, having access to things like this is more disturbing than anything else... :-\

Mr Jake

Why? :p It gives you nothing more than a good map would.

Google Earth has somewhat taken over my class at college and its used quite a lot ¬¬

Andail

Haha, this tells a whole lot about education today.

They're surf that large part of sea (and eventually drown) instead of surfing the net.

Sorry, but I couldn't resist to post a lame reply. :=

BTW if you're really interested there're many stuff here related to GE, the page is in Japanese though, and I didn't even check whether the stuff there are applicable to the free version of GE.

Because in theory I might find out where you live and plan a tactical burglary by using the map? "Right... if I hide behind that bin over there..."

Although I suspect it's all old data what with the photo of that car.

Never much cared for these things, but I got this in today's Al Lowe Cyberjoke:

QuoteI love competition! Remember Google Maps? You did try it out, didn't you? Regardless, it's too late now. This one you've got to see: Microsoft has trumped Google with (not just maps and aerial photographs but ) "bird's eye" photos! Evidently, they hired a plane to photograph everything--from all four directions! Not all the country is in their database yet, so your results may vary, but I was blown away by downtown Seattle, New York City, and more. Don't even try unless you have broadband:
