Just thought people might find this interesting ... On March 16 (I think), Google put up a project called "Google X" on Google Labs. It was basically Google with a Mac OS Dock-like toolbar. The bottom of the page read "Roses are red. Violets are blue. OS X rocks. Homage to you.".
Mysteriously, in less than twenty-four hours the page was down with a 404, and removed from Google Labs. Google won't say why.
Anyway, people took it from the Google cache and made mirrors. I made a modified mirror (http://googlex.jayssite.com/) that I hope someone finds useful.
So what do you think? Did Apple give Google a cease-and-desist?
Those guys at Google have always struck me as pretty fun-loving for such a big company.
I guwess it's something to do with their humble roots.
Yeah google are pretty cool. I heard about that Google X thing, and I've tried it out at a mirror before. It's pretty good, but yeah probably taken down due to apple complaining or something? I can't see why they should.
My guess is that just like the holiday themes it wasn't meant to last more than a day.
