Title: Graphic Problem : Transparency on cursors.
Post by: on Sun 27/08/2006 18:12:44
Hi,

I have got a problem with cursors. Our designer have made beautyfull png cursors, but when i load them in the sprite editor, there border becomes just ugly. Here is a screenshot :

You see what I mean ? the border becomes very "pixelised". Do tou have any idea about how to solve this ?

ThanksÃ,  :)

PS : I know this is not directly related to AGS, but i didn't find any other place to put it and the FAQ says that graphic problems have to be posted in the "General discussion" forum :/

hmmm I'm not sure if you posted this in the right forum... anywayz:

I think the missing pixel are transculent because they have the same color as the texture around them. While importing you pick some color to be transculent and those pixels seems to have the same color.

Atleast I think that's what happend  :)

it looks as if the hand is anti-aliased, AGS will only make colour you select transparent so your picture will end up like that, i'm not sure if antialising works for cursors it might just be characters and objects but you'd have to check the manual to find out for sure.

If he antialiased the edges of the sprite, and you aren't running in 32 bit mode you will get an ugly edge like that, and honestly that one isn't bad.

If you aren't using 32 bit color ask your artist to work without any external anti aliasing.
