Hello all,

I'm considering buying a graphics tablet and I wondered if any of you kind folks here could recommend any specific models or warn me of any "dodgy" ones there might be about  :P

Money isn't really a problem, I don't mind parting with my hard earned wages 'cause I'm damn sure it'll get a lot of use.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Dave.

In my experience, there's some cheaper ones like 'Trust' tablets but don't be tempted by them. Wacom are definitely the tops, they have the best pressure sensitivity levels that are really essential in a good tablet. The stylus dynamics work really well, and also you've got the fantastic customisable grip-pen and 4D mouse to play with. I think it's very much value for money, however steep they seem when you're shopping for them, which you seem to have already noticed.

I've been playing with my dad's Intuos A4 recently and I'm convinced enough that soon I plan to get my own Intuos2 A5 (I find I don't really need the wide spread of the A4 tablet for the stuff I draw).

I have the (second) best one of trust (There is a upgrade of the onw I have now with scrolling, so it isn't the best anymore), and I haven't had any problems..
Allthough, I am pretty sure that Wacom is alot better!

But my problem was money, and the best of trust had the same price of the cheapst Wacom where I live, and that Wacom was to small for me..

So.. If you want quality, buy a wacom..

Thanks for the info lads (don't know how I missed that link Haddas, cheers for that).

I'm pretty sure I'll go for a Wacom Intuos 2, probably the 9" x 12", which I can get for just over £200 (around $370 US).

Looking around the web that seems like a pretty good price and after reading a fair few good reviews I'm very impressed with the features.

Unfortunately it turns out I'm going to have to buy a new computer, which will mean I can get my Wacom for a while longer, but I'm looking forward to building my own computer from scratchÃ,  :)

Thanks again.
