Hi everyone. I'm seldom posting here anymore, but I'm still here guys! I got me a new guitar, 12strings! So I thought lets shoot a picture, and tell some stuff that happened in the meantime.

I have been playing now for a year, and I wrote 30+ songs, and performed to more than 4000 people, till now. It's going great, and I love music.

In February I'm going to start going to school again. I'm going to study for "Multimedia Designer"!!11!1one!1.  At this moment I'm working as a webdesigner at some small company. As for my study, I'm thought to just make hobby professional :) Why not make money from something you like to do? euh?! :)

In top secret I'm also still working on a game, but I'll post about that later! :) I'll try to post some more often again at the boards.

btw.. still working with kids :)

Greets, your GraphicsGuitarGuest :)

Hey Minimi! Good to see you around these parts again. Nice looking guitar... One day I might get myself a 12 string.

Glad things are going good for you. Keep plugging at the guitar, It's good fun and the chicks dig it....

The 12 string is the superior acoustic guitar. I do not know why there aren't more of them, but I do know that I'm glad I have one.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

I love a good 12 string, but I've only seen them as straight rythm guitars, they lack the adaptability of a 6 string....But I still love the sound.

Look up Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges and/or Michael Gulezian. Be amazed. I had the thrill of seeing and meeting the third guy live at my college student union.

The thing with a 12-string isn't that it can't be a lead instrument, but that it's so damned hard barely anyone does it well.

I have heard some of Leo Kottke's stuff, it was really quite a trip.  I like him almost as much as I like Laurence Juber.

Jimmy Page made one work for him, I guess.  You know, he always had that double-neck SG, but I don't ever remember him using it for lead.

Dimebag Darrell also used one at least once that I know of, you can hear it if you listen to "Suicide Note, Pt. 1".  From the sound of it, he may or may not have used one for the intro to "Avoid The Light".

I've only gotten to play a 12 string once, at first I didn't know what to think of it.  But then I realized, "Oh, you're supposed to play each pair of strings as if it's ONE string."  ::) :P  I think the only really hard thing about a 12 string is tuning it properly.  I still haven't figured that out... something to do with octaves.

Minimi, good to see you're still alive and well. ;)

Normal guitars are like:
E
A
D
G
B
E

Twelve string guitars have the top 4 strings raised one whole octave, so you get:

e
E
a
A
d
D
g
G
B
B
E
E

As you can see the bottom 2, totally 4 strings, are the same sound! It's actually easier to tune than a six string, I think, because a 12string guitar keeps it's tune better, by the way it is manifactured.

Hope you understand!

Cheers! ;D

So the high E string(s) are tuned to "A" instead of "E"?
