So, the other day i downloaded and installed an MMO.
But, as i began to play, the following error message came up:
Renderer Creation Error: HAL device not available for default adapter.
Proving my complete lack of techno-mumbo-jumbo knowledge, i have no idea in hell what this means.
If anyone could give me an idea of what to do, it'd be appreciated.
Cheers,
Fluke.
I believe you may have inadvertantly messed with a Heuristically programmed ALgorithm.Ã, :=
You may want to begin by telling us what MMO and what OS you are using.
MMO: Entropia Universe
OS DETAILS:
Intel Pentium III Processor
731 mHz
256mb RAM
Microsoft XP Home Edition
Nvidia RIVA TNT2 Model 64
Hope that helps
according to the site there are the minimum specs:
Windows 2000 or later.
512 MB RAM.
1.7 GHz Intel P4, AMD Athlon XP 1700+.
NVIDIA GeForce FX series or higher, ATI Radeon R300 Series, (96xx or higher.).
Direct X compatible sound device.
3 GB of free Hard Drive space.
Direct X version 9.0C.
Broadband internet connection (ADSL or better).
it's most likely something to do with your graphics card, games haven't supported the TNT2 hardware for quite a while now.
the rest of the system isn't really up to scratch either, it's always best to check minimum specs for modern games.
I'm sorry Blake, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Like BOYD mentioned, it's probably a graphic card issue (possibly some service the card driver provides), since I recall I had seen some options in the graphic setting section of some applications with that word (which I never bother to learn what it means). I guess it's possibly this thing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_Abstraction_Layer) (just more techno-jumbo for normal users like me, so ignore it...).

Look Blake, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.

My god, its full of stars.
Why are you using a computer from 1998, Fluke?
Because he doesn't have a new computer?
Just a guess!
Good guess!!!1!1 I guess I was just more curious on how he thought Entropia would work on it at all.
Not trying to be an ass, just curious.
not trying to be an ass either, just making a joke.
TEH JOKEZ!

What are "jokes", eric?
I'm sorry, but i am going to have to shut you down HAL.
wasn't that the line...i can't remember.

Open the pod bay doors, HAL.
Er... seems that one doesn't really work here.
