PSP's aren't the console for hardcore games, sure it's got perdy graphics, but the DS is where it's at.

The DS is built for enjoyability in the games rather than looking perdy, the PSP looks better IMPO and the graphics do look nicer, but thats no way to judge the mahcines. The DS has built in bluetooth for wireless multiplayer gaming on the go. It also has the ability to play GBA games as well as DS games, while the PSP can only play PSP games, and from what I have heard are 90% or so just re-releases of popular playstation classics, (not to say the DS won;t be doing the same).

People say that the PSP has been in dev. longer than the DS, this may be true as it's Sony's first attempt at a handheld while Nintendo have been making them for years with plenty of expertise.

The stylus pen on the DS allows you to fluidly control the games as you would with a pc mouse and keyboard.

As you can probably guess I am more inclined towards the DS, but thats with good judgement too, although I do not wish to put people off from buying the PSP which altogether looks like a nice handheld, but for a gamer like me I NEED my 26 hour battery life that the DS will carry, and the fact that I already own a GBA like many other people the ability to continue to play my games on the new console is very appealing.

magintz, in terms of battery life, the DS does actually roughly around 14-18 hours (so I have experienced so far) of course, that was straight out of the box when I supposed to charge it.

for those that are out a lot and like to game on the go, the DS scores big points in that department, but you do have to be careful, the system is pretty fragile (well all handhelds are really fragile)

Another thing, that has been not been mentioned much is multiplayer. This, I feel is where the DS scores much higher marks. With wireless multiplayer which, in my many of the titles, only requires one cartridge to play with others. This is, by far the most enticing aspect of the DS as a system if you are into multiplayer. Don't want mario 64 DS but want to play it multiplayer..go right ahead... Want to try Jam with a Band before buying it. find someone who has it and you get to have a taste without having to worry about purchasing a crappy title. Add on to that, the fact that nintendo is on the verge of unveiling the wi-fi capabilities (which is most likely going to go the way of xbox-live...which is okay) it is a good day to game.

Now with the PSP, you as well have great multiplayer games, but they do require multiple copies of the game to play with others, and add on to the fact that it brings the battery life down to about two and a half hours...but...the multiplayer, from what I hear, handles almost flawlessly, with a lot of entertaining titles coming out including dynasty warriors, armored core, and darkstalkers...for the multiplayer lover..there is a lot to be jumping up and down for with these two systems.

another thing interesting about the DS is the ability to unlock secrets within DS games by having certain GBA games inserted as well. The big example of that is Sega's Feel the Magic XX/XY which unlocks different outfits by having different Sega GBA games in while you play

Ah.. The handheld franchise. Yet another way for soulless corporations to con children into getting their parents to spend more money on crap they'll break in 2 months.

I don't understand your point, you refer to the PSP's games as re-releases, when they haven't been released in the first place, many are franchise based, but not re-releases, actually I haven't seen one.

And on the second point, what the hell are you talking about? I don't understand where you are going with your reply so if you please, think before you speak. ???

"very happy to report that Nintendo's dual-screen wonder will debut at the 99.99 GBP mark." "could be in your hands by March 11th" - from the GAME website, almost very close.

What I was refering to by re-releases where things like the ridge-racer, although they may be altered, they are still very much the same, like with the DS things like Mario Kart will be re-released etc...

I would like to buy a DS, but right now the launch games are nothing special, but i intend on buying one in the near future.

So right now, i am happy just to play my GBA: SP.

As for the PSP.  When it does come out here in North America i am gonna wait awhile.  Knowing Sony's reputation with console hardware, i'm pretty sure the PSP will not be that durable and probably will only work for a little while. (I should know, i had to buy 2 Playstation 2's because the damn things were made with cheap parts)

But when i see more good DS games come out, i am definitely gonna buy one.
