Title: help with FOA
Post by: miguel on Wed 25/06/2003 01:30:15
remember Fate of Atlantis?
I bet you do,
well I don't,
I'm stuck and not even walktroughs help me!
I just downloaded VDMS after reading one of the threads at the forums and decided to get some old games, FOA was the chosen one but now I am stuck,
if anybody remembers this part...
  Location: greater colony
  Puzzle: after finding the moonstone and placing it on top of the sunstone, seting a rising sun with a new moon and with the horns on top,
  Problem: when talking with Sofia, she says we have found what we were looking for;
                  the walktrough says that I should pick up the stones and enter a secret entrance;
   Question: where's the damn entrance!

    if anybody remembers please be so kind to let me know, if not I'll just have to delete FOA and NEVER play it again

well, do whatever you want, I posted here because it isn't a AGS game and all I can see on the Hints & tips forum is AGS games

Heh...Go to the index board and take a look at what it says under the hints forum...

specifically "Dying in kings quest"

Heh...

I'm just being a bastard though...don't slap me around please....

Did anything happen when you arranged the stones and pushed the spindle? As I recall, the correct positions for the stones vary from game to game, so if you just follow the walkthrough, that might not be the correct combinations. I don't remember where you got the hints for that spot in the game, maybe Plato's dialog?

Edit: Squinky, as there is an AGS version of King's Quest, that doesn't really change that it is primarily a hint-forum for AGS games :)

Actually there was an argument about the Hint forum when it was created, whether it should only contain AGS games, and that "King Quest" thingie was a bit confusing, I thought it was originally for AGS games only.
However, as that board wasn't really overused, and the truth is that the Rulez thread for that particular board is nonexisting, I think asking for hints for non-AGS adventure games there is now acceptable (unless we get 30 new threads per day in it, they we should reconsider about it.)

garage gothic you are right

the combination of the stones is in plato's dialogue (man I love FOA)

If I'm right you are on Crete? Right?
Anyway, you need to arrange them correctly and then press the spindle. And an entrance should appear.

I think it's different every time you play... If you post the exact lines from Plato's Lost Dialogue, maybe we could help you...
