Questions concerning backgrounds.

Hey. I am just getting started in making games, I have some knowlege of animations and such in Flash, so I thought that i should try my hand at games. Well, I'am curious about backgrounds. Every game i see made with AGS has good graphics for the background. The ones I make look terrible. I was wondering if anyone could provide some help. Also, could you tell me where I can download backgrounds? I checked the site that was listed under the "read this" thread, but they were under construction. If you can help me then thanks.

Why don't you take a look at the tutorial thread in CL? I'm sure you'll find some great tutorials there that can help you to imrpove your bg art. If you wanna download finished bgs, I'd advice to take a look at http://www.sylpher.com/ig/ and download InstaGame with lots of premade stuff you can use for your own games including bgs.
