If you get a file "Message.txt.exe" and you have "Show extensions" off, you'll see "Message.txt" and, if you open it, install a virus on your PC. I'd really, REALLY advise you to turn "Show extensions" ON.

You don't have to do any of this (apart from the extension thing) but that's what I would do in your place (well, apart from the steam thing, I guess).
