I'll most likely find myself in Boston for a week on job-related business, some time this spring. Now I was wondering, can somebody give me suggestions on what to do there? Is there some sight or place that I simply must visit (or simply must avoid)? Or are there any AGS'ers in Boston who'd like going out for a beer some night? Thanks!

I have been to Boston twice.  I can remember a nice park downtown where you could ride swan boats for a small fee. I did that during my first visit with my family.

The second time, I went to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, now that was awesome.

But i do remember the people being quite rude though. I was 16 at the time and i had to flip the bird to some driver because he was honking at me crossing the street while heading to the ball game. That bastard.  ;)

There's a historical trail through the city where you can see a lot of colonial places.  Faneul Hall is where a lot of political rallys and discussion took place (and where John Kerry conceded his loss in the last presidential election).  There were all kinds of trippy little graveyards by the old churches with carvings that looked like they came straight out of an old zombie movie or game (my state is very young, so we don't have that sort of thing here).  I had a blast just walking down the trail, which is marked on the sidewalks.

The favorite places I visited were MIT and Harvard, simply because I was about to go to college for the first time then.  MIT has a bunch of weird techno museums and research stations around it with robots in the window displays.  I toured the place with a student group hoping to see some cool stuff, but they just talked about the meal plans and showed the dorms like any other college!

If I had been over 21 when I went I might have had a lot more fun.. but being 18 and from Oklahoma what I did (wander around randomly) was pretty interesting anyway because I'd never been to a real major city then and all the quirks were new.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

Radiant,
I'll be going down to Somerville, which is fairly close to Boston, sometime soon. Let me know when you'll be in Boston and maybe we could meet at the Hard Rock Cafe (or anywhere else - not very familiar) one day and have a couple beers - if our trips happen to be at the same time.
That would be pretty cool.

Oh, I forgot, there's a blue man group there, if you're interested in that.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, youtube it.

Thanks for the tips!

Snake, I'll be there around June 14th - June 21st. Hard Rock cafe sounds like fun.
