Title: Hoppy Vawntymes
Post by: LGM on Mon 15/02/2010 03:46:39
For those of you who are alone on this sad day because you are in love with a woman who has been dead for 50 years, this song is for you:

I spent the day having dinner with my friends and afterwards together with my girlfriend watching Sleepless in Seattle. The best part was when the olympic games begun :)

I played Trackmania, it was cool.

But back on topic, I liked the song. But there were no tags in it (or were there?), so I am kind of dying to know who wrote and performed it. Was it you, LGM?

I loathe Valentine's Day.

If a man needs a holiday as an excuse to do something romantic for his lady than he's lost the battle.

I also find it tragic that the modern woman (at least in the U.S.) looks forward to 14 February because she knows it's the only time of year she'll get some romance.

[/rant]

Having said that, I did spend the day with my new lady-friend ... and it was a great day.  She claims to loathe the holiday as much as I do but I got her a dozen roses just in case she was only saying it to agree with me.  I may loathe the holiday, but I'm not an idiot.

FSi: Yes, I did sing the and play the song. My friend Emilie is singing backup. The song is called "Two-Headed Boy Part II" by Neutral Milk Hotel.

I also hate Valentine's Day, and just dumped my girlfriend a week before it. I am villainous (or oblivious to arbitrary, capitalistic holidays)

I spent most of last week saying just how much I hate valentine's day. And by Tyr, did I mean it. As I always have.

And then, on valentine's day, unexpectedly, love rears its head. This was a good valentine's day because of that, but more by coincidence than anything else.

Loathing is just silly. Valentine's day doesn't mean you can't get romantic any other day. It's just for friends to be reminded. You can also give presents to people even if it's not their birthday.

Well, since 14/2 was New Year Day this year I had much better things to do than doing nothing as the previous years.

I gave my girlfriend a picture I drew of a bear with chainsaws for arms so she wouldn't think I was being oversentimental.

Flibble..that's just blatantly amazing.

I don't have anyone in particular to celebrate V-Day with, nor money to purchase anything. But I was able to spend time with the single most important person in my life on the face of this earth..and I gave her a hug at the end of the night. We'll never be what I want us to be..and we don't hug..but she didn't have anybody else this year either so I figured..well..

..she laughed a little when I said, "Valentine's Day was three years ago" but only coz she knew what I meant.
