those bitches.
In my opinion, you're better off with Yahoo or Gmail. For those of you who have used Hotmail for years and have constantly deleted emails to maintain your lofty 2mbs of storage- Rejoice.
because of your post, i went in to check mine, and i saw the status bar of my memory usage, and it was blank, i thought in their move to give 250 mb, they deleted all previous, i was floored. but hey, cool upgrade!
they did that like a couple of months ago. old news!!1
I think it depends where you are or when you registered.
I checked when I saw this and it's *just* upgraded.
I registered a very very long time ago, when it wasn't MSN hotmail. The year was 1998, I believe.
WTF? Mine is still 2MB...
They've been upgrading for months, since Gmail came out. Since they couldn't afford to do it all at once they started with the oldest and premium accounts and moved down from there.
Hmmm, that's useful. Ã, The best thing about hotmail is that it's easy for people to remember your address, as everyone already knows the bit after the '@'
I use a program called 'hotmail popper' or something that downloads my mail into outlook (well the opera equivalent anyway). Ã, So I wasn't limited by the 2mb quota so much.
Heh I've also had mine for months, but it dodn't bother me cos I already had gmail. Still it is nice to have extra, but they should have done it before gmail came along. That would give them more respect, but I don't really care.

But I have had hotmail since 97, and I am still on 2Mb. I think it has got to do with WHERE you are, like Steve said
I've had hotmail for ages aswell... it's gotta be about where you are....
One of my friends who hasn't had his hotmail account as long as me was upgraded about 2 weeks ago and I was just upgraded 2 days ago. We live in the same town. Their is no big difference in our hotmail usage either. He may use it a bit more. So location and time you have had the account are not a factor me thinks. Maybe usage but I don't know for sure since he has been using hotmail less lately since gmail came out.
They're probably using a system (alphabetical order or something) to roll it out. Just wait, it's not as though there's any rush...
Anyone who desires a Gmail account, hit me!
I may or may not oblige. But hey, it's worth it.
Heh, alphabetical order? Mine starts with an "e" and it still hasn't been upgraded.
I said "or something", alright :P
What I mean is I doubt they're arbitrarily choosing which accounts to upgrade, there's probably an ordered system of some sort.
I doubt they would even have an ordered system and I think that they would randomly choose which account but, good point.
lamers... I got 2 gigs... then again msn is my isp :P
Hehe, I just noticed something... You now can't report the monthly Hotmail Newsletter as spam. They must have gotten sick of people doing it. I know I did it every month :P. I don't need to know about all their 'special' offers. Oh well, I classify it as spam, but I guess we all agreed somwhere to get the emails.
They're all about stopping spam as it irratates and takes space in the inbox. The friggin' MSN News thingy's take space aswell. If I wanted to get them it'd need to not to take any of that 2mb storage space....
When does MSN update me? I haven't seen a word written about it anywhere on MSN...
Aye. It is wierd, because I have 2 accounts, and my older account has 250mb, yet my newer one is only 2mb. Still, I get too much spam in my older one, i need the extra space or i miss out on important e-mails.
Thats odd too, cause I have 2 accounts and they apparently updated them like the same time.
Maybe its because I love Microsoft. ;D
IM if you would like a gmail account I have 6 to give away .
Hmm, now it's odd. MSN finally upgrades my hotmail account. I get 250 MB storage and now, its even with Yahoo!. Maybe this will start a corporate war.
