Title: How to take screens from DOS Games?
Post by: Krysis on Fri 07/07/2006 11:20:33
This is a question that's been bugging me for quite a while... I want to take screens from one or two old Sierra Quests but It doesn't work. I know someone knows how to do it becouse I've seen screenshots of DOS games. So do you use a program or something? And how do I make them run in a window?

I use Dosbox (I think it's legal) in windowed mode for that. It seems to work. I press keyboard print screen button and paste in photoshop. Always works. Though dosbox may have a printscreen ability, I've just been too lazy too check.

I use SnagIt (http://www.techsmith.com/snagit.asp)
Or if you want it specifically for sierra games, SciStudioVGA is out

Ctrl-F5. It saves the images as PNG files, so you don't have to go in and paste them into Photoshop.
